All quantities are approximate, as lobby is a "throw-in" or "chuck in" recipe …

A good quantity of raw lamb or beef and a couple of roughly chopped onions into a large pan with a little oil, on a high heat until the meat changes colour ….

Add enough water to fill the pan about three-quarters of the way up, and add a good teaspoon of salt and plenty of pepper. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about 1 hour.

Add small cubed raw vegetables in any combination of carrot, turnip, Swede, or anything else that is to hand. More salt to taste, bring back to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes.

Add small cubed raw potato (as much as needed) and more water if needed, and bring to the boil. Simmer for about 20 minutes.

Finally, add a couple of stock cubes (more if needed - depends on the size of the pan!), more salt and pepper to taste, and bring back to the boil.

Then, gerrit dine yer neck !!!!!!!!!!

4 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 lbs beef, cut into 1 inch cubes
3 medium chopped onions
3 cups beer
3 cups beef stock (made from concentrate cubes)
1 teaspoon salt
12 fresh ground black pepper
2 bay leaves
6 medium idaho potatoes, peeled and cut into 1" cubes
6 tablespoons butter (optional)
3 tablespoons chopped green onion tops (optional)

Brown meat and cook onions in the butter, stirring occasionally.
Add stock, beer, bay leaves, salt and pepper.
Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Add potatoes and continue to simmer for 2 hours.
Mash any remaining pieces of potato, so that you have a thick'gravy' with just a few pieces of potato.
Serve in bowl with 1 tablespoon butter on top.
Sprinkle with onion tops

The correct name for this dish is "Lobscouse". There are several recipes for it on Goohle.

Hope this helps.
