would this mean Bob gave Maria flowers?

Bob-san wa Maria-san ga hana (w)o ageru.

if it's wrong please explain why! Thanks!!

It should be
Bob-sa wa Maria-san ni Hana wo ageta.

Bob-san gave Maria-san a flower.
ボーブさんはマリアさんに花をあげた。
ボーブさんはマリアさんにはなをあげた。
Bob-san wa Maria-san ni hana wo ageta.

ボーブさん「ぼーぶさん」（Bob san）
は（wa）＝ topic particle
マリアさん「まりあさん」（Maria san）

に（ni）＝ since Bob is giving something to Maria, we should use に（ni）, Maria is not direct object. We use を（wo）when the object of action is direct object. And we don’t use が（ga）, since it is either for subject, or for some other exceptional usages.

花「はな」（hana）＝ Flower
を（wo）＝ since flower is the direct object that is being given to Maria, we use を（wo）

あげた（ageta）＝ is the past form for あげる（ageru）, whereas あげる（ageru）means ‘to give’

Small note on the conjugation of あげる（ageru）
あげる　is the る type verb, we can conjugate it like this:
あげます（agemasu）＝ to give (formal)

ga is incorrect. The indirect object particle is ni. Your verb is in the wrong tense. As well, you should ensure that your verb form is the desired degree of politeness.
