There are several accounts of violent acts, but for the most part, it is about how to live peacefully and be a moral person. So it's a little of both. It's not ALL violent, and it's not ALL peaceful.

If you asked, is the Bible a peaceful book, you'd surely get a lot of "no"s, and people would paste the violent accounts. In the same sense, people could say "no" and paste the messages of morality and peace.

Some say the OT is violent, but it doesn't compare to a God that would send his own son to be crucified. Jesus creates a place of eternal torment for non-believers and asks his followers to eat his flesh and drink his blood. You won't find eternal torment in the OT and Jews are forbidden from eating even a single drop of blood.

nah, not much violence in the Bible.

Some parts do contain records of violence, such as murdering rivals, etc. This happened more in the Old Testament than in the New Testament, but it happened. Also in the New Testament there are some records of, say, the murder of John the Baptist (all four Gospels mention this) as well as the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Please remember that these are historical facts, and are mentioned to show the results of mankind rejecting God's love and forgiveness. To sum up, no, the Bible isn't violent but it contains historical records of violence. Hope that helps.

Let us open our book of the merciful Lord to the book of Numbers, chapter 31, where Gods explicit instructions to the armies of moses goes something like this:
Kill all of the men
Kill all of the male children
And the women who have known a man by lying with him and are with child, lay them down and rip them open
And the women who have not known a man by lying with him, you can have for yourselves
Christian Soldiers....nice bunch of folks!

Yes violence is featured a lot in the bible! Christians espcially contemporary (which i am myself a contempoary christian) ones focus on Gods love far too much he is also a God of wrath and vengious he get jelious and angry. He is just as much a God of love as a God of anger (not hate God does not hate) He is both the Lion of Judah and The Shepard!!

It's a record of the way people live.I would say that it's not the book that's violent, but anytime
there is a record of society, you will read of violence. It's the fallen nature of man.
God has a better plan.

You tell me...
Joshua 6:21 "They devoted the city to the LORD and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys"

Leviticus 20:9 "If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death."

Leviticus 20:10 "If a man commits adultery with another man's wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death."

Leviticus 20:13 "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

2 Kings 2:24 "He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths."

Leviticus is chalked full of putting people to death.

I would say so. A man being nailed to a cross. A man's head being cut off and put on a silver platter. The Bible is full of violence.
