The reason I asked this question I was preparing to cook a T-Bone Steak on the package suggestions on how to cook the steak, The directions said don't cook the steak with Herbs because it will cause the meat to burn, because herbs burn very easily.

herbs are Basil, Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano......you know, the green things that you can chop up if you buy them fresh. Salt is a mineral, and pepper is a peppercorn or seed that is either ground or cracked.

Pepper is a spice and salt is a mineral, They mean things like Parsley,Thyme, Rosemary etc.

No, they are not herbs. In cooking they are considered seasonings.
