THe ps3 has had virtually no glitches infact thousands and thousands ofps3 owners are running their ps3 24 hours a day for the last 7 months running a program called folding at home which is a huge collective of super computers joining together to find a cure for cancer.
PS3 games produced are on Hd 50gig blueray (more space for better graphics without sacrificing game levels and game size..) GTA4 developers even stated that the game will have better graphics and gaming on the ps3 version and are having issues with the 360 version because of 8gig dvd game format... They may have to make the 360 version on multiple disc so if you like getting out of your chair alot while playing, .....
360-elite games produced on dual layered 8gig dvds
game developers are finding the 360 format to limiting and finding that they have to sacrifice game graphics or gaming levels and challenges...Bungie the makers of HALO series have parted the exclusive ways with Microsoft and are now developing games that are multiplatform...
Ps3 499 and xbox 360 399or elite for $479---THe Ps3 for the extra $20 you get a full HD entertainment system that also surfs the internet. You can goto any website and watch or download videos like YouTube...You can access your email and print it etcc...
Ps3 Blueray hd movie player that also upscales regular dvds movies to HD...It also upscales ps2 games to hd..
Ps3 comes with rechargeable controllers...
Ps3 comes with free online play and Wifi
All of the above the 360-elite can't do.
360 and elite -For hd movies you have to buy the hddvd player for $200. For
360 elite for quick charge kit you have to buy it for $20.
To play online the 360 charges $50 a year
360 elite no interent browser
Ps3 hdmi 1.3 (supports deep color)
360-elite- 1.2 doesn't support deepcolor 1.3
Ps3 Nvidia RSX GPU Graphics at least two years ahead of it's time. And programmers aren't even close to using it's full potential yet.
360-elite is hardware locked into outdated DX9 graphics-Game programmers are developoing for DX10 (full 4d and 3d motion realism)
THe ps3 8cell broadband processors. CPU-Designed specifically for highspeed calculations (Games Capable of more AI charactors )
Xbox 360 -Elite-- The New 65NM CHip....Isn't any different then what they used in the 360 core except it cost less to produce....
Ps3 you can buy any external usb harddrive and hook it up loaded with music videos , etc...You can buy any brand 2.5 ata harddrive and upgrade the harddrive size for ps3...
THe elite and 360 requires Microsoft harddrives only- for a 20gig it's $100, for the 120 it's $189
360 -elite for wifi you have to pay an additional $100 and online gaming is $50 a year...And for that $50 a year to play online you also get stuck with third party in menu advertising...
To use 60% of what the 360 and elite can do you have to buy the addons and you'll spend over $750 before you even insert a game.
THe elite and new 360s hdmi, 65nm, red ring of death--Microsoft has no Idea what the cause is, You can't fix what you can't find. Game producer are even finding that the engines that Micorsofts provides them to develope games on are getting the Red ring of death and it is not caused by just the hardware engineering flaws. They are seriously frustrated and that is one reason Bungie the maker of the Halo series has left their exclusive contract with microsoft and is now developing games for other systems. Microsoft still owns Halo though. So yes all the 360s even the new ones are all vulnerable.
THe 360 sales numbers are game producer driven by three titles HALO, bioshock ( rumored to be multiplatform soon and availble to the pc now) and Gears of war (available to the PC now)...If it wasn't for those titles many gamers wouldn't tolerate the limitations and engineering flaws of the 360
Get the ps3 you can use it for so much more. We own all three. THe wii, elite and ps3... The ps3 will take you into the next two generations of game consoles... The 360 will have to be re deigned or another generation produced by 2009

The PS3.
PS3 failure rate: .02%. 360 failure rate: 33%. Those are facts.
There will probably be a new 360 in 2009 or 2010. That would be 4/5 years after the 360's release. As you recall, the XBX only stuck around for about 4 years before it got replaced by the 360.
Sony said there will not be a PS4 until at least 2010. But that's just an estimate. Most consoles stick around for about 5 years. Even the GC last 5 years. The PS2 came out 5 years after the PSX. The PS3 came out 6 years after the PS2. So, the PS4 probably won't come out until 5 or 6 years after the PS3, but it most likely will depend on what MS decides to do. If MS releases the next Xbox in 2009, then the PS4 might come out in 2010. If it's 2010, then maybe 2011 or later for the PS4.
The PS3 will have more games simply because of the Blu-ray. Developers are already complaining about the DVD-9 on the 360. Rockstar said it might have to go with multiple disks for GTA IV, and they're not happy about it. They wanted to make it on HD-DVD, but MS said no. Multiple disks cuts into the developers profit. The game is 59.99 whether its 1 disk or 3 disks. It costs more to make 3 disks than it does for 1 disk. Unreal Tournament 3 said the PS3 version will have more content because of Blu-ray. The PS3 hasn't released their blockbuster games yet, while the 360 already released Halo 3, and the 360's sales haven't improved all that much. Wait until Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, LittleBigPlanet, Haze, and Killzone 2 are released.

alright well here r the anwser to ur questions
which is better??=xbox360
last longer=ps3
bettergames=360
now a 360 is cheaper but with this red ring of death is killing 360's across the country 360 has xbox live which is the what makes the 360 better so go out and buy a 360 i have a 360 and it did catch the red ring of death but make sure u gete a warrenty
Updated Anwser To R&d
yes all of ur points r valid and i cant argue with any of them yes i also own all 3 the next gen systems plus a ps2 i grew up wit the sony fammily and i can still kic it with the ps2 but alot of the 360's succes goes to the Xbox live which is great compared to 360ps3 doest compare 360is very top loades with there games like Halo 3 &gears of war or Saints row yes if i could u should get both bc u caint go wrong with either of them but both will have 2 be up dated in 2009 because there r flaws in the ps3 also like 360can play xbox games making those games look better not the case for PS3 Sony has admitted that some games designed for older PlayStation consoles are not working properly on the newly released PlayStation 3 (PS3). It has offered to fix the PS3 problems via online upgrades for consoles.
The PS3 was supposed to be "backwards compatible", meaning it should run games written for PlayStation and PlayStation 2. Sony said that the audio features do not work on some titles, while others have problems with the graphics
so my point is that u caint go wrong with either but i preffer 360

i think this holiday season and the beginning of next year the PS3 will get some great games and will catch up with the Xbox 360 in that department. i like the ps3 better the controlers feel more solid to me and the menus and home screen seem more advanced and easier to use than the Xbox 360.
Personally i have a PS3 and me and my family love it. My dad cant wait to get et h new ratchet and clank and my sister is obsessed with resistance fall of man, as for me i cant wait till i get Guitar Hero III. my best friend has an Xbox 360(well her brother took it to college a couple of months ago but...) and she also has a PS3 when using one after the other i still prefer the PS3.

This is my cut and paste answer. The reason for that is because a tech info is a tech info, you can't beat it (sources below).
PS3 will win the console war, no doubt. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. GTA IV, for instance, isn't even announced for Wii - this toy won't be able to cope with the game's requirements. Xbox 360 is getting GTA IV, however, the game is going to be released on several DVDs - Xbox 360 owners will have to interrupt gaming process and switch discs (Rockstar complained about this issue). Only PS3 will have it on single BD-DVD.
Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:
A third of XBOX 360 (33%) are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%. Despite some people say, that new 360 has no breakdown issues - just visit Xbox section of Yahoo answers and see for yourself an amount of complaints.
PS3 has 8 (7+1) kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3.
PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 54 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual layer DVD-9 (8.5GB). It's possible to get HD-DVD (max. - 30GB) for 360, but it'll cost you around 180$, in this case Xbox is going to be MUCH more expensive, than PS3.
Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in 4 slots card reader (except 20GB and 40GB versions), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $
Graphics are stronger in PS3, due to RSX chip, that was developed by Nvidia exclusively for PS3. RSX runs on 550 Mhz. It's difficult to compare their graphics chips, because 360 has a video chip with totally different structure and operating memory is divided differently in both consoles. However, PS3 exclusives look better than 360's exclusives.
PS3 uses technology from AGEIA company. It does to physics of the game same thing GPU (videocard processor) does to graphics. This thing is on sale for PC(special card). The price is around 350$. There is no such thing in 360.
Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 15 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it. That's why in some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".
Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.
In 2008 PS3 will get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4, The Agent and other great exclusives. Here is the good link to the future PS3 releases. http://ps3.ign.com/index/release.html......
PS3 online is free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.
There were reports, that 360 scratches discs. No reports on that in PS3.
The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console. Biggest games weigh only 25 GB (Xbox 360 will need more than 3 discs even for those).
On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony officially lets you do it. There is no such thing in 360.
PS3 HDD can be replaced easily with any 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used in laptops). 250 GB will cost you around 170$. In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where 20GB will cost you 100$.
Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years. Also Sony reduces price now. There is a cheaper 40GB version of PS3.
Sony constantly upgrades PS3 software (free updates for OS) - you get new functions and improvements.
PS3 controller (sixaxis) has a motion control - you move controller - game responds. Wii has it, Xbox 360 - doesn't. PS3 is getting rumble controller (Dualshock 3) in 1st quarter 2008, Japan gets it in this November.
On PS3 you can help sick people by running Folding Home project. Wii and Xbox 360 didn't even think about it.
New 40GB is 399$ or 399 euro (depends on the region) - it has no backwards compatibility with PS2 games, has 2 USBs instead of 4, no built-in card reader, but it's the same PS3, strong, reliable, less noisy, different cooling system. The price is friendly.
I didn't mention Wii, because it's so weak, no point to talk about it. Leave it for kindergarten and casual games.
