We have a small army that is starting to get stretched pretty thin. Canadians spend money on crazy things like health, education and social programs before the military gets funding.
It is not a question of wanting to stay, but being able to stay.
I did one trip through Afghanistan and that was enough for me, but I think that if the mission is clearly defined and we don't get bogged down in ideological warfare (ie spreading "freedom"), Canadian soldiers are willing to see things through.
But again, too many rotations through will burn out our people, so it's a matter of capability over will.

Canadians will continue to stay in Afghanistan as long as the Americans will pursue the war thereat as a commitment to its neighbor for their respective national security.

I am American, but I work with several Canadians in NATO supporting Afganistan. The ones I know want to stay. They are not sure if thier country will let them, but they want to stay.

We are currently committed until 2009. Harper is trying to extend this until 2011. There will be a vote in parliament sometime in the next couple of months to address this.
