If you are, in fact, using Microsoft Word, you click on Tools (in the menu bar ... at the top of the screen) and move down to where it says Spelling and Grammar, and click on it. Alternatively, you could use the keyboard shortcut, which is F7.

Click on "Tools", "Spelling and Grammar".
If you want to change the language of the checker, that's in "Tools" too, but either do it before you start typing or select everything first.

Check in the 'Format' Menu
if the word is not Underlined in red then the spelling is fine.
if it is not underlined in green then the Grammar is Fine.
