Use an odor eliminator from the petstore or vet.
WHile at the vet have the cat checked for any physical cause of the urination, there may be an infection there.
You may want to make a chance to the litter you are using, or clean it more frequently, or add another litterbox.

If you cat did it once, it will probabally keep doing it. If it is a male it is marking its territory. If you have not had it fixed, doing it and getting a new couch may solve the problem. Talk to your Vet and ask his/her advice.

try cleaning the spot(or spots) as best u can then put an oder eliminater on it. go out and get yourself a squirt gun or pray bottle and squirt like hell when you see him or her going for it .If u can catch him or her after the squirting then put him or her in the litter box or outside and say this is where you go. And don't forget when your squirting to say no w/ each squirt. It worked for us.
