Buy a wireless router and wi-fi card for PC, plug ethernet cable into it. Now set your PC and PS3 to use this router.

What i recommend (and use) is a wireless router. All you need to do is buy one ($40), and connect it to your modem (the installation steps will be included when you buy the router). Then, your PS3 can wirelessly connect to your modem and access the network. If you have any more questions, just email me ;)

You either need to wire it or connect it wirelessly through a router.
