The sandwich consists of the following:
Rye bread
Light mayo
Stone ground mustard
Swiss cheese
Salami
Thinly sliced red onion
Thinly sliced tomato
Thinly sliced avocado

There is something missing, what is it? It is the cornerstone of this sandwich, something which would improve it exponentially.
You have to come up with the correct answer. The first to do so gets the 10 points.
You cannot take anything off of this sandwich, it must stand with these ingredients.
This sandwich is a personal favorite.
Good luck.

Of course the ingredient improves it in MY taste. It is a REAL ingredient. However it may not be something that everyone enjoys.

HINT: So far none of the first 8 people have the answer I am looking for although I do love both pickles and bacon on my sandwiches. I don't care for lettuce so that is not it. Turkey and other meats are very tasty but I am looking for the creme de la creme...good luck!

Although answer #9 makes a good point, as you need something to wash it down, and yes I love both milk and beer, I want to clarify that the ingredient goes onto the sandwich itself. Good luck! :)

Something that is glaringly, horribly, viciously ignored in this meal is the poor, misunderstood Vlasic pickle. No sandwich can be called that without the addition of pickles. To do so is a crime against culinary law and should be punished by being forced to watch Iron Chef 24 hours/day for a whole month. Don't break the law, people!

Oh the possibilities of a sandwich already so tasty! I would go with sliced green peppers, cucumbers, lettuce or even more protein like an Italian meat or even more cheese like provolone. Mmmm. I think Im gonna go make a sandwich now. Thanks for the inspiration!

how about olive tapenade? you kind of sort of have some of the ingredients for a muffaleta sandwich. i would make with a hoagie roll, ham, salami, provolone and swiss cheese, olive tapenade, red onion, may and mustard.
