Crisis? That's overdoing it,don't you think?
The climate is always changing. This is only natural. If it's natural, why is it a crisis?
Cooling is far worse than warming.
And it's the Sun that's responsible for all warmth on Earth, man is too insignificant to effect the climate.

We say a number of things:
1. We say the scientists pushing global warming are bad scientists because they do not archive their data, methods and source code and because they have been caught fudging the data.
http://www.uoguelph.ca/~rmckitri/research/Climate_L.pdf
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_sharing
2. We say the IPCC process is flawed and driven by alarmism. Even when scientists are caught doing wrong (as in the example above), the other scientists rally around him even though everyone knows he is wrong and got caught.

http://climatesci.colorado.edu/2007/09/01/the-2007-ipcc-assessment-process-its-obvious-conflict-of-interest/
3. We say the uncertainties around the recent temp increases are not well understood. The IPCC claims global temps have gone up by .74C in the last century. But our weather stations were not designed to provide that level of precision. Anthony Watts, a broadcast meteorologist, is leading an all-volunteer effort to photograph every station in GHCN. So far, they have photographed about 1/3 of US stations and found that 85% of them have a warm bias because they are poorly sited. Some of the are on top of parking lots! When Watts has completed his work, our information on the level of warming will be much more reliable.

4. We say current temps are well within normal climate variation and can be explained mainly through natural climate variations due to oceanic oscillations, such as the PDO and ENSO. The PDO was in a warm phase from 1905 to 1945 and temps rose quickly. The PDO was in a cool phase from 1945 to 1975 and temps cooled and scientists started talking about a coming Ice Age. The PDO was in a warm phase from 1975 until just recently. When ENSO is in a warm phase at the same time, such as 1998 and 2006, temps can be quite warm indeed.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_decadal_oscillation
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENSO
5. We agree that atmospheric CO2 can cause atmospheric warming, but disagree on the level of warming. Every scientist knows that the warming affect of CO2 is logarithmic. This means each new molecule causes less warming than the last molecule. The disagreement occurs about where we are on the logarithmic curve and what type of curve it is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiative_forcing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logarithm
6. We disagree with the alarmists regarding climate sensitivity. This is the estimate of how much warming will be caused by a doubling of atmospheric CO2. Because the surface temp record is not reliable, Stephen Schwartz of Brookhaven National Lab recently published an estimate climate sensitivity using ocean heat content rather than just surface temps. His calculations show rising CO2 will not cause any catastrophes.
http://www.ecd.bnl.gov/steve/pubs/HeatCapacity.pdf
This has been recently supported from an unlikely source. NASA's Jim Hanson made a prediction years ago about how much temps would rise if CO2 rose a given amount. Until recently people thought he was pretty close. Just recently we learned that since 2000, CO2 has been rising faster than we thought - 35% faster. Yet according the CRU. 1998 is still the warmest year in recent history. This means climate sensitivity is not as great as previously thought.

Rachel,
Man-made global warming is about control -- who gets to influence how you think, how you spend your money, and who you vote into power.
The strategy has been tried recently -- the 60's overpopulation scare, the 70's coming ice age, the 80's had the ozone scare, and now we have global warming.
Think for yourself. It's really about who gets to control you.

I say that we should learn to adapt. If we can spend so much time and money trying to be green, why can't we deal with any consequences when they happen? We have no guarantee that all the money we spend will actually affect the temperature of the earth. Those fancy graphs Al Gore uses are actually out of proportion to distort the increases in recent years. If it was really as bad at he makes it sounds, he wouldn't have to play with the truth to argue his case.

The changes in the climate are natural. There is nothing man can do to change the weather. Global warming is nothing to fear as man always adapts his environment to fit his needs and will do so to accommodate any climate change. For those of you who worship the planet and believe the sky is falling, and man is the cause, go for it, but keep your hands off my wallet, and my modern life. That about it in a nut shell, the majority of us who see through the global warming hoax, address the issue in this fashion

Only Algore really says it's a crisis cause he's got money tied up in the Carbon offset scam. If he cant panic the masses/politicians and get screwy mandatory Carbon Trading thru, his money making scheme loses revenue and eventually goes belly up.
