Most christaians agree that God created everything...Heaven, earth, and the entire universe, right?

With that in mind, why is it that so many christians are totally against the idea that there is some other forms of life out there?
Everything I see relating to aliens and christians say that it is against christianity to believe there is something else living on other planets...
For example:
http://ufos.about.com/b/2007/09/19/christians-and-ufos.htm

Why would it go against a religion that you are taught to accept every living being that God created? Nobody knows for certain that there aren't aliens somewhere and if there are, wouldn't it make more sense to welcome them with open christian arms?

I know this question is a bit odd, but it popped into my head and I would really like some explaination from people... I am not trying to make fun of anyone, just curious.

You are absolutely Right. IF there is in fact other natural forms of life out there we should be able to embrace them. However, The Bible, which is our center for Truth, does not really elude to the fact that there are other life forms out there. There was God, then he created the spirit beings, then he created man. Those are THE only "beings" I see in the Bible.

Just to let you know I have read it 11 times (so far) front to back and studied it along the way each and every time. Not patting myself on the back but if I really want to know about something I study. Also, and it seems this need to be constantly said, Christianity is NOT just a "religion" it is a way of life and a state of being. People have debased it to a "religion".

God Bless!

I am a Christian and I believe we are not alone. God not only created us, He also created other worlds.Other worlds which were created in God's image, just as we were. Other worlds which have never sinned.Right now, they are watching us carefully; they are witnessing the greatest controversy that has ever existed.
The Bible says, "we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men" 1 Corinthians 4:9
The entire universe is watching as we each play a part in the controversy between God and Satan. We all have a choice to make. Follow God, do His will and you will inherit the kingdom of heaven. Follow Satan, follow his evil ways and you will be lost.
When the great controversy is ended, sin will exist no more. Love and happiness will increase. knowledge will be progressive, every faculty will be developed, every capacity will be increased. All the treasures of the universe will be opened for study. We will finally visit Worlds afar-worlds that watched us with sorrow when they saw our human suffering and celebrated every time a soul was saved.. As the years go by, the more men learn of God, the greater will be their admiration of His character. From the smallest atom to the greatest world, all things in perfect beauty, and joy will declare that God is love.

Uniqueness lends itself to the wonder of creation, and "wonder" leads to awe of a Creator that can design perfect conditions for our being. Creation is a biblical answer to "where do we come from?" If life were to be found on other planets, it would at least put a temporary hole in the "complexity" theory that creationists claim to be a trait relating to the existence of God.

I prefer a philosophical approach, but science also needs to be objective enough to consider creation as part of the hypotheses used in answering the question above. I do see their point however, in being stopped from further study if "something from nothing" is the only option pursued. It can short-circuit research and exploration of world--and other worlds--around us.

Not all Christians, and i think those that do are very closed minded, because it goes against what they believe. and to be honest anyone who thinks we are the only beings in the universe are a bit pig headed, there has to be someone out there better than us, i mean just take a look at what we do to each other, to our planet, no one else could be as stupid as that.
People use God as an excuse for things that don't understand, it's either God has done it so it's OK, or God hasn't so it does not exist.
God created everything,is part of everything including evolution

Not all Christians think that, but then every christian in the world has vastly different opinions on what christianity is, and no-one can dispute that. You see it here all the time. God will send you to hell, god doesn't send people to hell, God performs miracles, God doesn't intervene, UFOs are Satan, God made everything including UFOs. It is this level of contradiction and ignorance that makes it impossible to get a straight answer out of christians on such matters.

Besides, It is a 100% mathematical probability that there are thousands of advanced civilisations in the universe besides our own. Christians will not stand firm on such ideas as aliens incase they are one day, and its a high probability, they are proved wrong.

In The Bible is shows that God created life on earth through Adam and Eve, God leads us down that line with Abraham to the line of David, to the Line of our Savior Jesus Christ, It would go against the Bible, We our Gods children and we have a chance, a choice because God sent Jesus or we would all pay our price, no the Bible does not mention anything of this sort, and when we have Jesus we understand Gods word in a new light, and there is no extra terrestrials out there, God has a plan, we are that plan, and these concepts are another thing to confuse people against what we should be doing, following Gods will, when you wasted time trying to create things that our not there that is time you could of accepted The Lord as your savior, and spreading what you have found which is truth, or you could wander around lost looking for the answer you think is right, never to find it, because there is nothing there, and by the time, you realize you may be standing in from of God at judgement day, what did you do while you were here, looking for another form of life, that would be like telling God, I'm sorry but I didn't believe you.

"Why would it go against a religion that you are taught to accept every living being that God created?"

Most religions are extensions of the human male ego. This necessarily excludes other intelligent life forms to the religious (insecure) mind.

Read up on 'anthropic bias' it is very interesting.

ooops, I mean 'satan told you to read'

Because the Bible primarily focuses on the earthly creation(mankind), not on life somewhere else in the universe. With that said, some may look at it and say, if there was life somewhere else god would have mentioned it(He wouldn't have singled us out).

EDIT: This view of "we're the only ones in space" also goes nicely with the story of original sin and how we got here. I mean, if there was life on lets say, planet Nigel 7, then how on earth would we make sense of it within the Biblical context? Their origins, Heaven and Hell, Christ, Etc.

Hebrews 1:2
"Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds;"

Notice "worlds" is plural.

Hebrews 11:3
"Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (are visible)

Notice "worlds" is plural.

Only in the Book of Hebrews do we have the word world plural, meaning more than one.

Now, as for the aliens and flying saucers and flying cylinders that we see, in the Bible they were also mentioned. As wheels within a wheel, fiery chariots and flying scrolls. I believe the UFO's are fallen angels manifesting themselves to us as sin increases and because the Jews are back in Jerusalem. The wars in the heavens are strengthening and the fallen angels and demons are losing and coming down either crippled from battle or from losing their position.

Not all UFO's are the fallen. Some are God's angels for protection of Israel. I still stand in awe of the Six Day War.
