if i hook up my cable tv channels to my pc that has windows media center(if thats possible) what can windows media center do?or can i do anything to my tv channels?thankx

You can Watch TV using Media Center
You Can Record Cable TV Using Media Center
You must have a cable tuner installed in your PC and have it setup to work within the Media Center Software.
Some High End Media Center PC even have Cable Card capability.
I Use the HP DEC (Digital Entertainment Center) Z565. I use it with an Off Air Ant. and using it's ATSC High Def tuner. I record Las Vegas, Hero's, Chuck, Journeyman, and many many others.

You can use a standard TV tuner in your PC, then Media Center will give you a guide similar to TIVO, and allow you to record. The sky is the limit since you can add hard drives to your PC whenever you want, unlike TIVO or Cable DVRs.
If you also want to record premium channels or HDTV, then you need a special computer with one, two or four Cable Card Slots. (Yes, some companies like Exceptional Inovations have beat the two cable card limit.)

go ahead and use your vga cable if you have that input or an s video cable adapter, that should allow you to play tv shows right off your pc. For any other moding tips, holla

Window's media center does not do anything because it not compatible with television tuner for video cards!!!
