Your theme doesnt need to extend much beyond colors and motifs for things. Focus on making your wedding beautiful, instead of making everything matchy-matchy with a theme. What are your colors? Start from there.

Is there something that you both share like a hobby? If not then Is there an interesting way you met? a certain place? You said you're getting married in the summer so have a summer theme. Are you getting married on a beach or a vineyard? stick with that as a theme. If nothing pops out at you then go onto wedding websites and in there you can look up invitations there is always a whole list of things that you can use as a theme.

I saw a very bold summer wedding in a magazine once. They used peppers as their main theme. Not a latin theme, but just peppers. The colours were a dark orange, dark green, and indigo purple. It looks beautiful in the pictures, and on the bridal party.

Bouquets and centerpieces were done with greenery (ivy, ferns, and the like) with different smaller peppers poked in among the leaves. They found some pepper-shaped lights to string around the reception area. Best part : The cake was chocolate, with chocolate icing that had a hint of chili pepper in it to give it a kick.

Fun colours, but only if you're up to the non-traditionalism of the theme.

Your planner should be giving you ideas for a theme and helping to guide you. When you do perfect pair, princess weddings etc it gets tacky. Why not go with a color scheme you like (what color you brides maids dresses are) and stick with that. The flowers you plan to use in your bouquets use in the centerpieces and use colored linens (same as dresses) to match. Tie everything together.

If you have a wedding planner, why doesn't SHE come up with some themes that you might consider. Personally, I do not believe in 'wedding themes'.

Honestly your wedding planner should probably be thinking of them and helping you out. That is what you are paying for ..
There is a website http://www.sensationalbrides.com that is filled with wedding ideas , colors, themes, flower decor ideas, even bridesmaid dress colors. I think this site may be able to give you a good idea of your options. Good luck with your planning

Hi. You don't really need a "theme." Personally, I think themes for weddings are overdone. Start with some colors and go from there!

How about "traditional wedding" with bells, rings, hearts, doves, orange blossoms, and so on? You have the rest of rest of life to give Roaring Twenties or Arabian Nights parties, but your wedding day is the only you'll chance you'll ever have to give a "wedding theme" party and not look like a a darn fool. Couples have a "Nifty Fifties" theme for their wedding and a few years later end up wanting to "renew their vows with all the trimmings" -- but it's too late then.

themes for a wedding can range from colors, to clothing, to decorations and anywhere in between.

how about the bold and the beautiful.
feature bold flowers. beautiful out of the ordinary varaties or colors maybe.
your bm dresses can be a more vibrant color. your dress can have a sash or trim to give a splash of color.
the cake can feature bold ribbon trims and some of your flowers as a topper or decoration.
your centerpices can be done with lots of color also....
even some bright colored organza favor bags work well with this theme.
