my school has a swimming unit and now that i have been swimming for a week i have a rash all over my body. it's really bad on my stomach, sides of stomach, and my legs. i have some itchy spots on my arms as well. i'm not sure if the pool has bromine or chlorine in it, but whatever it is, it's giving me red dots that itch like crazy. also, the school is freaking out over the MRSA staph disease so they might have gone over-board with the chemicals. i've never had this kind of reaction to pools before, but i did use to have eczema on the back of my legs.

I had a pool growing up and over time I developed a mild allergy to chlorine, we had to switch to something else. It is very possible that you could have an allergy or even just sensitive skin (eczema would make me think sensitive skin) that's causing the reaction. I would put some Aveeno lotion on it (they make one for rashes that works well) and talk to your school about it.

Yor should have the rash checked out to rule out an allergic reaction, because the pool water could also contain a bacteria that would also give you a rash!

Oh dear.

I would indeed suspect chemicals. Does the school nurse and coach know about this?
