none of those was really that good on gas, that was meant to be a sports car,and they did run very well but their not going to be that great on gas, they would run with some of the built up Chevy 350,s though, but didn't get that great of gas mileage.good luck.

1978 280z had a overdrive 5th gear and could just get 25 miles a gallon and 18 in town the 260z with 4 speed got 21 and 17 in town. The best looking 240Z was the 1969 to 1971 car small bumpers. In 1978 the bumpers were strong. Go with a fuel injection and always buy the very best already restored car you can. Almost all the parts are obsolete now so get the best car you can.

Best fuel economy 280Z because it had a 5 speed and was fuel injected.

Best looking '72 and earlier 240Z because of light bumpers.

Best acceleration '70 240Z because lightest.

If you are not fuzzy about numbers matching, a '70 240Z with a fuel injected 280Z engine, 5 speed gearbox and rear end.
Light, powerful, economical.
