I was giving my sea ponies (the my little pony sea horses) a bath in the sink when my mom came over and visited. I got busy talking to her and completely forgot about the sea ponies and went out to lunch with her but when I came back I remembered about my ponies and went to the sink and they were all gone. I asked my husband and he said he took them away because they shouldn't have been there and they were clutting up things. He says he won't give them back until I atone for the mistake properly. I asked him what he wanted me to do but he says I should be able to figure it out using biblical principals. I told him I'm no good at that but he still wouldn't give them to me!! :( I've had these baby sea ponies since I was almost a baby. What is the proper way to atone for my mistake?

Your' husband is disciplining you like a child. He clearly has very serious control issues. If you don't do something now, that's just gonna get worse. When you went out with your' Mother, you should have been talking to her about moving back in for a little while, until he either begins to respond to the help he so desperately needs,or the divorce is finalised, one of the two.

I'm really trying to figure out if this is a joke, or if you're serious.

If this is not a joke, then everything in this post is wrong on just about every level.
First, why would you tolerate that sort of treatment from your husband? You seriously need to get a spine. My suggestion is to pack his things, change the locks, and tell him you're filing for divorce.
Second, if you are a grown woman, why are you playing with My Little Pony sea horses? I can understand keeping things that have sentimental value, but actually playing with them, and giving them a bath in the sink?

while he is gone to work, change all the door lock. He will have 2 choose, tell you were they are, or find somewhere else to live. Just make sure to put the old locks back on, and keep the knew ones hidden so you can do it again if need be.
I know this isn't nice, but taking your childhood treasures isn't ether, and it is no way for a BIBLE beleaving man to behave.

What are you, six? What are you doing playing with "sea ponies" as a married person. But he might be referring to this...

1 Corinthians 13:11
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

Whoa! He's controlling you. That's NOT appropriate for a husband to treat his wife like that, even in a Christian sense.
You can say you're sorry for forgetting them in there, but that's about all the "atonement" you need to make.

Then go and get some marriage counselling.

Tell him you are his wife not a child. You should not have to be punished for something you did by someone you love. You earned that right when you moved out of your parents house. My step dad once stole the t.v. because my mom forgot to lock the door and he is not a nice guy. She had to wait to get it back when she was redeemed. Good luck and stand up for yourself.

You've got more to worry about than how to get your sea ponies back! Starting with how to get rid of a controlling jerk who thinks he has the right to make you "atone" for your mistakes. I'm not sure who's sicker . . . . . him for doing it . . . . . or you for putting up with it.
