his story? Here it is -

Subject: your deleted question..
Message: Dear TruthSeeker. I've had the same thing happen to me. I was emailed by someone who told me that a good number of the controversial questions are posted by Yahoo employees just to stir things up. These types of questions are usually posted in areas where religious/gay/lesbian/govt/immigration issues are discussed. Anything liberal is allowed to stand and anything conservative is bleeped out. I am beginning to think that someone very high up/hidden is using this forum to gauge or swing public opinion. I once spoke for 15 minutes at my local city council meeting when they tried to pass a resolution to condemn the immigration raids of last year. I'll tell you which side I spoke for if you email me, but I had 6 T.V. cameras in my face, which included 3 hispanic international networks (I am hispanic). When the 11 P.M. news came around, I took to flipping channels, and I didn't appear for one second...So, tell me, is there free speech? I hope to hear from you..Fernando..

Free speech is regularly abridged in America in the name of political correctness from the left and 'decency' from the right. For the most part, though, it remains.

Several issues here:
First, "freedom of speech" is a term used in the Constitution, and it refers to the government's abridgement of the freedom of speech, not television stations. It could have been a busy news day (although I also question the ranking of news stories at many stations), there may have been a short statement with no film (that is the rule rather than the exception), or yes, it could have been some censorship on the part of the TV stations (although I hardly think they are all in collusion as they are competitors).
Second, I can almost guarantee you that Yahoo does not spend money having employees plant messages on the Answers boards--that just isn't in their business model. Virtually 95% or more of the actions on Answers is automated--the deletion of answers the participants feel are inappropriate, the awarding of points/stars etc., and the other functions. One employee might be responsible for monitoring dozens of boards and they certainly don't have the time or the inclination to plant answers. There are certainly trolls who have nothing better to do than attack other people, but that is the nature of the "wild wild Web" and we are at the whim of those trolls.
Were you to live in a country that truly did not have freedom of speech, you would appreciate what you do have--private censorship or not.

With the tens of thousands of questions that get posted here everyday, I can't imagine Yahoo has the resources, to say nothing of inclination, to spend their time deleting certain political points of view.
I have seen questions deleted or answers deleted when they contained inappropriate language, but I have seen answers remain up on both sides of the political fence when they were professional and maturely written.
As was also said above, "freedom of speech" is a constitutional right that applies to our country, not private corporations such as Yahoo. As the owners of this forum, they of course have the right to delete whatever they want, I just doubt they are actually doing what was suggested.

on the grounds that while does "loose speech" assure you time on television? you're allowed to assert what you like. that does no longer mean human beings ought to take heed to you or sell your speech. start up taking some duty. it is not any longer the government's fault which you're no longer on television. Yahoo does not ought to sell what you opt to assert. From what i've got seen, it regularly does not care what you assert, see you later as you're no longer obnoxious or insulting. That is going for conservatives as nicely as liberals. Do a lot of conservatives get deleted right here? sure. Does that recommend Yahoo does not like conservatives? No. a lot of liberals get deleted too, because of the fact there's a lot of conservatives and liberals who post obnoxiously. lower back, take some duty on your person posts. it is not any longer a conspiracy.

i believe opinion at times trumps free speech. i have had responses removed and that is the commonality i have noticed. free speech at times is really free only if you have the money to defend it.

Well since Yahoo has already put their profits ahead of free speech on more than one occasion are you really surprised?
