in new jersey like just when im walking around 4 protection the blade itself is 3 or 4 inchez

It depends on how long the blade is....generally if you put the blade across your four fingers and the actual blade is bigger than the width of your fingers...its considered a weapon and illegal to carry in public.

However if it is less than the width of your fingers it is considered a tool, might not be the greatest form of protection but it could help in self defense.

Anyone under 18 in New Jersey cannot possess a knife with a 5 inches blade or longer (10 inches overall).

You should be OK with a 3-4 inch blade as long as you can explain to the officer why you carry it.

Pocket knives have legitimate purposes and protection isnt one of them. If it is a small knife life a swiss army knife than its not considered a weapon. If its large or a switchblade than it is weapon. I would suggest that the knife would probably not be much protection by the time you found it in your pocket and then managed to get it open.

Of course you can carry a pocket knife.
But not on an airplane.

But I doubt it would offer any protection. You don't sound tough enough to be able to use it anyway.

hi, i do no longer think of it precisely felony yet you could carry it yet do unlike THREATEN those with it i like pocket knifes my self( I fairly have 3) i as quickly as asked a police guy approximately that, he stated: ok yet do no longer kill anyone alright?! i become like ok i'm no longer able to !! :-)

You have to ask your local authorities, Generally, many people carry pocket knives, and it is legal in plenty of areas.
