I liked what DrWhat said. As a parent of a child who is quite possibly lesbian, I support her in everything she does. Thankfully she was able to come to me and discuss this without fear of "judgement" like her partner gets at home

Oh yeah and at least nobody was exceptionally rude..You were playing for a good crowd LOL

Hmm -- it's interesting that you lump atheists together with pagans. You must be aware that pagans believe in at least one and often multiple gods, while atheists hold no such belief.

As to the referenced question, it seems to me that one of the big reasons behind the success of the LGBT rights movement is their families -- people who, like the mayor of San Diego, may have had firm beliefs about what is and isn't acceptable but could not allow those beliefs to come between them and their loved ones.

I honestly don't know. I have never thought about it. We often say we will do one thing until it happens then we find ourselves doing something else. I will give it deep though and a lot of research. I am glad my son was born without any problems. He is a great young man and is doing very well in life. Even though his mother and i could not resolve or differences we did do the best we could for him.

He refers to pagans because we are on the same side with atheist on the right for gay marriage. Liberal Christians can be included in the question. But to answer the question, I think it's nice that you got a few nice answers. It doesn't surprise me that you didn't get many. Too bad.

In notice not many wanted to offer an opinion, only 4 answers.

Perhaps they know that they would disown their children but are ashamed of their own ignorance.

I answered that question. None of the answers were rude so far. But it's still early. I stand by my answer.
