How do i tell the guy i like that i like him as more than just a friend?

So next friday is the day that my family is leaving for Greece for a week. Its killing me one the inside basically that i do not know if he likes me or not. I had my friend text message him but he never answered. Idk if he even got the text. Im thinking that if i tell him how i feel he will tell me if he likes me or not. The question is when is the right time and where is the right place to tell him. Should i tell him the day i leave or a couple days before?

IF YOU TRULY LIKE HIM THERE IS NO NEED TO HIDE IT. IT WOULD BEST FOR YOURSELF TO GET IT OF YOUR CHEST AND AT LEAST YOU KNOW WHERE YOU STAND IF YOU ARE GOING TO FORM AN RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. BEST WISHES
