Did you turn it off before an update was complete? Or did you try to install a second OS? Anyway there is a hard reset on the ps3 that will allow the system to totally reformat itself . it means loosing your games saves if you didn't back them up. And you will have to run update again. Check the Manual it will walk you through step by step.

ANything that you downloaded from the ps3 store will be free to download again as long as you sign in under the login you set up originally when you bought games etc..

Your free downloads can be downloaded again as well.

You might need to make sure that all of your connections are in the right places. I remember one time, I put just one cable in the wrong spot, and the color didn't come out correctly, so you need to make sure that all of the connections are in the right spots. You never know, someone in your house could have messed with the cables or something, so check them again.

If you make sure that all of the cable connections are in the right places and you are using the right cables and it still isn't working then Call Sony.

I would try loading a CD, DVD then a video game. If none of the above works then you have a PS# issue. If you only had it for a week, take it back and exchange for new one. That's probably your best bet.

check if the audio and video plugs are inserted correctly (the red, yellow and white) and also check if the plugs in the back of the ps3 are put in the right way.good luck.
