Yes, it is very dangerous. Tanning booths can cause skin cancer. If you want to be tan, either go have a spray tan, or find a good self tanner. Avon has a good one. Then you can still be tan, and you won't have cancer later in your life. I have heard about girls who are only 20-21 years old that have gotten skin cancer from spending time in tanning booths.

Tanning is really bad for your skin, so it doesn't matter if you go once a week or 5 days a week. I am aware that tanning causes skin cancer, but I still go probably 3 times a week on average. So do whatever you want, just know that if you get skin cancer, it was probably from all the tanning.

Women are spending BILLIONS of dollars each year to try to undo effect of tanning and sun exposure. I know you want to look tan- so go ahead. Just use a self tanner or bronzer, because beside looking like a wrinkled prune who know one will notice, your chances of getting skin cancer increase tenfold when you use a tanning bed just once. Be smart. You can look good now AND know that you will look good when you are older by avoiding tanning booths altogether. There are tons of self tanners out there that will give you the same look, for less price, and less risk. Be smart! And here is my prediction---tanning beds will very soon be banned by the FDA. Remember, you heard it here first.
