Correct snuff was big in the 17 & 18th century, it was a fashionable way to take in the tobacco and not smoke it, I had a friend who's uncle was a snuff taker, until his nasal passages blew out and he got face cancer, not a pretty sight.
Like the brands labels as Copenhagen, Skol and others, they are edible ones, and like chewing tobacco, you put them between your cheek and gum, and then there the spitting, all are both very dangerous, not something I would try, if you smoke that is one thing, don't load the gun with more bullets.

Yes-when i was 22 yrs. old I was at a bar and in the bathroom this chick was snorting something off her hand and i asked her what it was and she said snuff, wanna try some. So I did, it was peach scented and it kind of burned a little and made your heart beat fast a couple of seconds. Kind of like a little head rush.
