(I'm using my daughter's account).
I'm sorry about my post last night ( It's in her account if you would like to read it). Marrisa ( my daughter) & I talked about it, & I realized how harsh I was being. She just had surgery ( She's 15 btw) 7 day's ago, & I realized that she needed to have some of her friend's over so she can have there support. I just re-read the post, & WOW did I sound like a Grinch. So I'm sorry about that post yesterday. (Some of her friends are over here right now).
I do have a question though. What kind of movies do 15 & 16 year old guys, & girls like? I'm about to go get my daughter & her friends some movies, but I'm not sure what kind of movies to get them? I already asked them & they said they didn't care just not little kids movies lol. There's my daughter plus a guy ( Brandon) & a girl ( Jessie).

Well, none of us can see it, since her Q&A are set to private. At any rate, things happen. Try not to beat yourself up over it, though I know you probably will. My mom used to. She went through a rough period when she divorced my father, and wishes she had done things differently. We're all human. Nobody's perfect, even parents. As long as you know you snapped more than you should have, and apologized, I think you're good to go =) No matter what she tells you, she doesn't hate you. We all tell our parents that, LOL. I'm 25 and remember what it was like. As for the movies, you can always ask at the video store. They usually have lots of teens working, so they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Okay, here's my thoughts. You want her to follow doctor's orders and rest her leg. You also worry about her watching too much TV and missing out on homework and studying.

Here's her side. She just had surgery. You and her Dad are divorced, she just fought with him. She probably feels like the world is against her (like most girls her age). She's stuck in the house, can't move around, and you won't let her watch movies. She's a good student and doesn't understand why she can't just hang out. It's the weekend.

I see where both of you are coming from, but I think you need to let up, which you said you have. It's the weekend, and from the sounds of it, she's an active girl. Being stuck immobile has to be tough on her. I had knee surgery when I was 19, and was on the couch for over a week, on crutches for almost 3. I was used to working full time, going out after work, going hiking, etc. I was sooo bored and so lonely. It really sucks knowing all your friends are out having a good time and you can't do anything. As long as she does homework/studying tomorrow night, I think everything should work out great. You sound like a great Mom, I know being a single parent can make things stressful on the household.

I love movies that teach character. Here are some: A Walk to Remember, Lillies of the Field, Boys Town, Birdman of Alcatraz, A Patch of Blue, just for fun Envy, with Jack Black.

I'm sure they like thriller or horror movies but the trick is to find one that is not Rated R. Ask the people who work at the video store which new movies just came out and are PG-13. Good luck!

Hmm, hard to think of a recent movie that was any good, that's the problem with being old enough to BE a parent.

I'd fall back on older ones that you or I would know but that a 15 year old would never have seen. How about YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN?

How 'bout some Adam Sandler movies....Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy or others like Blades of Glory. On the serious side....Deja Vu...that was a good movie for teens and up.

Next time you apologize for a post could you provide a link
or more information? That way the rest of us could get some
idea about what the hell you're talking about. Thanks.
