Do I believe there's some omniscient being responsible for all of this and watching over each us individually? Not really.

Do I believe there is an energy-matter power that is the source of all existence and intelligence, which we are WAY too ignorant about the true physics of to even begin to understand? Absolutely.

Do I have a problem with people, who can't even begin to get their brains around the complex physics that would be needed to understand that energy-matter power, simplifying their understanding (for now) by representing it as an ominscient "being" that they can more easily relate to? Absolutely not.

Even the "science" that we think we know for certain is simply a best guess based on the information we currently understand. And even in the past recent years we've seen long-standing certainties (science) replaced now that we understand more about the "true" underlying science (which has itself a limited shelf-life). So that means the old "science" was really not too different than believing in an omniscient being. It helped us move along in our scientific understanding, even though it wasn't quite accurate.

So, is it better to use concepts we can readily understand to further our knowledge and get closer and closer to the underlying realities, or should we wallow in ignorance and simply "wait" for the final answers to suddenly pop up out of nowhere?

You have to start somewhere. If people want that starting point to be an omniscient being, that's fine with we.

And to me, it's interesting that String Theory, the next evolution in our understanding of physics, points to the actual existence of a lot of the "supernatural" that anti-religionists mock as fantasy. The last laugh may very well be that, the God controlling our lives is none other than ourselves, reaching out from different strings of dimension and time.

Yes, I do believe in the Christian God. He is amazing and can do great things for you. I think you should read the bible before you judge if you like Him or not. I will be praying for you that you make the right choice and maybe even try to get to know God. He wants you to know him.

Excuse me there is no Christian God or Muslim god.In every religion it is believed there is a Supreme Being, that is God.Christians,Jews and Muslims all believe in God.
Yes I do believe in God..
In fact the ablity to perceive the exixtence of the Supreme Power is inborn in human nature. It is this cognition which may or may not be subsequently blurred and stifled by self indulgence or adverse environmeantal influences

Define Christian God? There is only one God that came for all of us not just for Christians. Therefore he should not be labeled the Christian God. If you are referring to God, the Father, Jesus, His son ( word became flesh), the Spirit ( the spirit of God hovered over the earth) then the anwser is yes!

The Christan god? No. Not in the slightest. The idea of a man in the sky with human feelings such as jealousy, anger, happiness, and just a temperment in general - that is not a god, that is a human creation. People are quick to attribute things they don't understand to something higher than themselves. Religion is a joke and Christianity is, of course, no exception.

You know its kinda sad that the powerful God made us all not because He needed us just because, and all He aks in return is for you to love Him and each other and follow Him to do what is right. He sent His own son to die on the cross, and the the person He put the very breath into refuses to believe,
thats sickening.
and you even had the choice, you don't live in the middle of Africa and you have never heard of Him, you just refuse.

Sadly, I am more of a scientist. While it is highly unlikely for life to develop here, it did. All the pieces just fell into place and life was created. I don't believe that any supreme power had a hand in it.

If God came down and spoke to me, then I might be inclined, but without proof, I can't believe it.

However, religion is a good thing that I approve of. It encourages behavior that we should all follow. IE: Don't Kill, Don't Steal. So the idea of God is a good one.

Yes, I believe in God and I am a Christian, but I don't believe that my belief system is the only valid one. I believe because I have faith, not because of some intellectual belief. I recently read a book that spoke of the difference between faith and beliefs. Made a lot of sense. My faith guides my life and calms my fears.
