Why do want both the country rejoin? Lot of things are changed since 1947. As of today they are to two seperate nations and they have there own entity and in my opinion rejoining them is not a good idea in itself. Instead of that if you ask Whey don't live like good neighbours? would be a relevent question.

The British sowed the seed of separatism in the mind of Jinnah who insisted for making the country of Pakistan. Since then, this country has been ruled by only greedy people who were only interested in making own fortunes by only India Bashing, so that mostly illiterate population of Pakistan do not think for the country. No Ruler has anything for the country. They have made Pakistan a mess. INDIA would require at least a century to set everything right and in order, if that country is merged with India. SO INDIA is not interested in having a scar on its skin. Pakistan is day by day becoming more and more un-manageable... IT HAS BECOME A TERRORISTS PRODUCING STATE... I FEEL SORRY FOR THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN FOR THE DAMAGE ITS RULERS HAVE DONE TO THEM...

Why only India and Pakistan alone? The boundaries are man made for that matter globally by the selfish lot. Things to be reviewed very seriously are the concept of nation, flag, army, war, patriot etc. These terms have been created for dividing people globally. The miseries of men are common globally even though we differ by name, religion, caste, creed etc.so atleast, in the name of globalisation, let the boundaries go. only man is biased and all the creations of god are selfless and without selfishness. no apple tells i am a chinese apple or an australian apple. let us learn from these basics of nature.

Old rivalry, differences and vengeance that people carry in their heart, politics, cultural differences ... there are too many reasons to list but politics remains the number 1 reason. Pakistani rulers would never want Hindus/Indians to rule them. It would make no sense for India to have Pakistan back though, we will have to spend a lot for another couple of decades to build all the infrastructure as well.

Political greed, religious hatred and plain simple stupidity. Must say that our Pakistani brothers surpass us in all these qualities.

Because they'd kill each other. They separated for religious reasons and have been pretty much at war ever since.
