If we assume that they're both applying the same level of expertise and competence, then the atheist wins:
o The Christian doctor would be inclined in some cases not to treat people whose lifestyle and situation he disagrees with: homosexuality, pregnancy terminations etc.
o The Christian doctor would also be more inclined to pray for his patient, which experiments have shown may have a negative impact on their survival chances.
So they'd lose more.

Think what you like because I'm sorry to say there isn't a heck of a lot of hard evidence to go on.
It's been recognized that there's a broad trend toward "collegial" self oversight of the medical industry. The first link below is a report from the Office of the Inspector General from the U.S. department of Health and Human Services. They note that while the current reporting system has its strengths, one of its weaknesses is that it's not likely to report substandard patterns of care or poorly performing practitioners.
Of course in the U.S. health care is a state issue, so how to get information and follow up shall depend upon where you live.
Most reasonable folks regardless of their creed would want some tangible evidence to make important decisions, particularly where the health of themselves and their families are at stake. But for those who wish to take a doctor's claims of believing in Christ over any sort of tangible objective record of performance there's certainly nothing to stop them.

No. They go to the same schools, have the same training and, all other things being equal, have the same skills. Why would being a Christian make a difference? God didn't save 6 million Jews, why would he bless one doctor?

Why would you divide doctors by Atheist or Christian..and what about Jewish and Muslim doctors? Or all the other religious groups. If I am sick I want a good doctor, I don't care what his religion is.

The personal religious beliefs of a doctor have little to do with his/her abilities as a doctor.

The years the doctor spent in medical school determines that.
Where the doctor spent his or her weekends has nothing to do with it.

NO
Neither one can ""CURE"" anything or anyone.....
If one is Healed they are healed by GOD
If one is sick and doctored then were they fixed by the Med or knowledge at hand...still not the person....
BUT
If one had the gift of Healing and believed in GOD...Then God through them would Heal and they would no longer need to be a Doctor , nor need of a Doctor........
Doctors depend on thier teachings and findings in Books.......very few rely on Jesus CHrist and His Word....all say they believe but how many by thier deeds show they believe..............

No. I think that depends on the competence of the doctor, not the religion (or lack thereof).
