my puppy is 7 months old. i would love to put him in obedience classes but i am a college student and i wont have a money for a couple more months...i take him everywhere with me to get him socialized, i will even leave him alone in a room with other people to try and make him calm down, and he will. but if i stop taking him out with me for more than 2 days he will revert back to aggression.

Oh my... Chihuahuas are quite a handful. Heres some tips:
- Absolutely no crate time-outs. When it's time for bed at night he'll be wondering what he did wrong.
- You should talk to an employee or a dog trainer at your local pet store.
- A dogs most fragile body part is their nose, so NEVER flick him on the nose when he does something bad.
- Your Chihuahua is only 3 months, huh? It's probably just a stage he's going through.
- Spray him with a spray bottle filled with water every time he does something bad. Soon he'll understand that when he does something he shouldn't, he gets sprayed.
Good luck with your little anklebiter!!!!

It's no use trying this, that and the next thing. You need to decide on a method of training and stick with it...it can take weeks for even the RIGHT methods to take effect. I don't know what you have tried with the cage, but crate training is NOT a way to discipline a dog. It can aid all kinds of things, but it is NOT a little prison cell, to throw your dog into. Nor is it something that you 'try' and then dimiss.
What are your reasons for trying 'lil hits on the back of his neck'? Why do you think this would help? Violence begets violence - that is all he will learn from hitting him! And he will attack qicker, harder and when you aren't looking!
You really need to get a trainer to reveiw all aspects and beliefs of this 'relationship.

Kendra,
Your pup is most likely showing this type of behavior out of a lack of confidence, fear which equals aggression. Put him on a leash and have a few people come in the door. When he tries to go after them firmly turn him away from the person and remove him from the room and you totally ignore him until he settles down. Really this only should be a 2 minute process. After he calms down, praise him and return back to the room where the people are. If he displays the same aggressive behavior repeat the process again. Keep repeating this reinforcement training as long at it takes to teach him that when he displays aggressive behavior he gets removed and ignored. Good luck.

The problem is You have not socialized your puppy. Find an obedience class that will help learn how to handle your puppy so that he will obey and be nice to other people.
Chihuahua's have a terrier disposition as stated by the bred's Standard: Alert, with terrier-like qualities. They are tenacious and think they can whip the world.
It's up to you to socialize him so that he does not act aggressive.

Obiedience classes. I hate to say it but, there's something bothering your dog and it's impossible for some owners to get intune with whatever it is.
Obiedience classes specifically designed for his behaviour will help him get over whatever he's upset about.
Good luck.

it's only because he wants and tries to protect you... try instead to PRAISE him for calm behavior.
and when he misbehaves, don't put him where he sleeps, because he will think of it as a "cage" instead of a bed.
work on mellowing him out, and giving him vigorus exersise to make him less jumpy [less enegry= less bark, and less "im unna kill joo ded" stuff]
good luck, and remember that he loves you more than life itself
