My black lab loves her Kongs. She has one large black one and her first puppy one. The Black one is good for her because she love to chew aggressively, she had a red one and destroyed it. we have no problem with the peanut butter spray and she seems to love it. We go through a can of it quickly because she can't get enough. I believe they are a good investment for any dog.

Kong's are the best toys for dogs, because they keep dogs occupied for a long time, and they never seem to get tired of them! They can hardly tear them up, as a matter of fact I have only heard of this happening, in a few cases, just make sure and get one that is the appropriate size for your dog!! The spray will last for a while, depending on how often you use it! You can use real peanut butter, and the spray cheese from the store, just don't over do it!! I would give it to my dogs to play with, every day! You can also put milk bones and other treats in there, along with the peanut butter or cheese, just get creative with it, you can also ask someone at a specialty pet store, they have the best variety of Kong's!! The sprays and other treats should not make your dog sick, if you don't over do it, and give it to them more than a few times a day! They are wonderful for all dogs, not just one size but all sizes, it helps their coordination and is a more interactive toy than any other I have seen in the past!! I am sure your Australian Shepherd will love the Kong!!

My Aussie,

...dumps her EMPTY Kong in my lap! Only after I haven't noticed her waiting quietly at my side. lol Yea quiet, up to 15 minutes at a time!!

We have so many different shapes, sizes and colors...

Her favorite; red, not crazy about black or blue.

Original Kong, looks like a snowman.
Stuffed with low fat and low sugar, natural (cheap brand) peanut butter n' jelly on whole grain bread..

The 'spaceship' is best stuffed with chicken hot dogs.
In the summer I add ice cubes...

I didn't care for the spray, to runny. $$$

'Bacon Bits', fit in the 'dental floss' Kong, well the rope didn't last long. lol My shepherd, the 130 lbs chewie monster ate it!

Some of my Kongs are 5 years+ (some are not! check them each time)
Very Important, read their insert for sizing.

Makes kennel box training a snap!
Need 10 minutes quiet time?

Besides, it's guaranteed, take it back with your tag in hand if they don't like it.

Grins, j

We swear by our Kongs! Both my Lab and my Pug LOVE their Kongs, well worth the money in my opinion.

We never buy the sprays that you put in there. They are full of nothing but chemicals and crap really. We use regular peanut butter and organic dog treats, then we freeze it so it lasts longer. If we freeze it it usually lasts our lab about 2 hours and the Pug about 3.

If you put the food or treats in first then seal it up with peanut butter. Or make layers out of it.

No way to know if your dog will like it until you try it.

Im not really sure what peanut butter spray is. We just use normal peanut butter and stuff a treat in there. Kongs are good for hyper dogs. If you use real peanutbutter just use it as a specail treat dont put it in all the time or your dog might get fat. As for brands they are all basicaly the same it shouldent matter much

the kong was my dog's absolute favorite toy and they were one of the few she couldn't chew through. i never did get into the PB as I'm highly allergic but it didn't matter. she would nab other kongs from dogs at the beach. she was just a maniac when it came to them. Australian Shepherd's need a challenge so having the PB or cheese would be a great one!

okay give your dog the right size kong for her strength. A lot of dogs like peanut butter and it's okay.

Kongs are great. Get a few for variety. Cheese spray works well too.

Dogs do like them. you can put a small dab of real peanut butter instead of the spray. dog's love it and it is good for them because of the oils it contains .

yes they are... my dogs love them too. peanut butter stays in there and i put small treats in there so that some of the will actually fall out but its too easy so i put small bones taht barely fit and it keeps them goin for a while

combine both so they think they are getting something lol
