I own a two year old Jack Russell and every time she gets fleas we give her some flea medicine, the fleas go and every things fine after that. But, for the rest of the day my dog will hide in corners shaking and not eating. Is this normal, is she allergic?

You didn't say what flea product you are using. If using OTC products don't..they are very dangerous and can cause some very seriosu problems.
If you are using a product from your vet then contact your vet & contact the 800 # on the package to let them know.

What are you using? I would suggest changing the product, especially if it's from a pet store!
Only use things from vets, like Frontline, Revolution or Advantage or Advocate. These are the only safe things. It could be possibly your dog is only severely afraid of flea treatment - but if you're using stuff you've bought from a store, drop it quick because a lot of this stuff is dangerous.

Okay... first of all your dog probably didn't start "going nuts" right away. So I am pretty confident that washing it off - did not really wash it off. It gets absorbed into the skin. You can call the emergency vet place and ask them your question. They will advise you if you need to bring the dog in or if there is something you can do from home. Hope this helps!

Flea medicine is an insecticide , yes it can make some dogs very sick . would you ingest an insecticide or put it on your body , yes we need it control fleas , but the side affects can sometimes be life threatening

I would check with a vet. It doesn't sound normal if she only does it when she takes meds. When you take meds, do you act like that?
