If incest was forbidden after the fact (Leviticus 18:6-18) when populating the planet wasn't the main ordeal, then isn't it quite possible that now, since the world is increasingly overpopulated each day, that homosexuality would be allowed and not considered an abomination? It seems that God works with nature, not against it. What are your thoughts?

Then why does China have a law about the number of offspring produced?

Homosexuality can not be compared with having sex with children. Children can not fully consent to an adult. However, two adults may consent to each other. Adultery can and has produced offspring.

BAM, you always give the most insightful answers. Obviously I know what the Bible says about a man lying with a man, and I wanted to know people's thoughts -- not what the Bible says. Some provided, others didn't, but you delivered. Thanks

My answer is going to stray a little bit from your question, but it's because I think you'll be interested in some related thinking--you seem to be a deep thinker.
First off, who was Cain's wife? Well, there are two possibilities. She could have been his sister, and that's what I believe. However...
There's a book that I think is called "Adam and HIs Women" that talks about two races of humans living side by side--the created race and the evolved race. It's been a while, but as I recall the book suggested that Adam's created wife was Eve, but that he also fathered at least one child with an evolved woman named Lilith, and that Cain came from this union. When Eve bore Adam a son, Lilith became jealous, killing Eve's child and putting Cain in his place to ensure that her child would receive a favored upbringing. This contributed to the tension between Cain and Abel, because both sensed that Abel came from a "preferred" line. Not saying I buy it--just saying I've always found it to be an interesting idea. Anyway, if created and evolved lines were living simultaneously, Cain's wife could have been from the evolved line, which would have made Cain being kicked out by his parents a good deal less traumatic for her.
Hmm...lifting the prohibition on homosexuality to reverse overpopulation. It's an interesting argument--I'll give you props. However, it assumes that God has the same perspective on population control that some humans do, and I'm not convinced that he does. For one thing, I've seen studies that say that the planet has enough resources to support an enormous population, if we'll stop screwing around about the way we distribute them. For another, from an eternal perspective I don't think overpopulation matters--plenty of space in heaven.
Now I shall gird my loins for the barrage of thumbs-down for the following question: does the Bible really speak to lesbianism at all? I know all the stuff about a man not lying down with a man as he does with a woman--but does it ever say a woman shouldn't lie down with a woman as she does with a man?

I like Overseer's answer. One can also conjecture that Cain was not Eve's firstborn. We do not know how old Adam and Eve were when created. I don't think God would create them as toddlers. My opinion would be that they were created teenagers of sufficient age to be "fruitful and multiply." Assuming 3 or 4 years between births, Eve could have had dozens and dozens of children before Cain and Able came onto the scene. Yes, this was "incest" as we see it but as there was no sin it was ok. Only after the Fall did sin enter the picture and everything changed. I believe that Cain's wife was a sister (full) but, again, this was ok with God.

What do you want from us!
What do you want from God?
What do you need from his word?
God provides for the overpopulated. What concerns him is the under populated homosexual act of sin. God says it is a sin so it shall be done incest is also included. What Cain and his wife did or did not do is a thing of the past.
If any of us lived back then we would be just as evil and vile as the people God spoke of. There would have still been a Noah,Moses, and Abraham. Jesus would have still had to come. We are without excuse.

The Bible doesn't tell us who Cain's wife was, other than he had gone to the land of Nod (which means 'wandering') on the east of Eden.
(Genesis 4:16-17)
Sex is to be enjoyed by a husband and wife and is used also for pro-creation. Homosexuality is UNNATURAL, and was never meant to be - this has absolutely nothing to do with the world's under or over population. In God's eyes, homosexuality is still considered an abomination.
I have had many prior students over the years claim that I didn't like them because I punished them for doing something wrong. I tried to remind them that the punishment was for what they DID wrong, NOT because I didn't like them. In the same way, God is deeply displeased with the act of homosexuality and punishes that, but He doesn't hate the person who does it. He loves him or her, and wishes them to come to repentance.
Thank you for this very thought-provoking question!

People are in the best position if they are like Jesus and Paul and have their minds so full of things for God, they have no time for to even consider sex for any reason, sex for lust and from a reprobated mind should never happen.
If they do consider sex, let them consider a wife, they will have to do as Cain and consider a relative, distant cousins [ Cain, his sisters, nieces, cousin were so near perfect, no genetic defect to be a worry ], we are best to be sure of the distant relative because of genetic defect this far away from Adam and still being his offspring through Noah.

cains spouse develop into got here across in the land of Nod. i think of Nod is element of africa, probably the place Sumaria is got here across right this moment. yet i could not say for particular. Sumaria ought to be the place Ham and egyptus first homesteaded. however the oldest domicile would possibly not additionally be got here across archeologically. with the aid of fact it could be the place Adam and eve lived, not an entire city. nonetheless the e book of urantia says there have been 4 races already on earth whilst Adam and Eve arrived. the data that I even have been taught are that Eve had fifty six babies. and the e book of mormon (in the pearl of great fee) says that their babies enjoyed devil greater effective than God. as on your slam against advent. only one witness, or one prophet of God, is sufficient testimony to disprove that evolution ever occurred. in the pearl of great fee Abraham develop right into a witness of the advent.

Cain's wife was his sister. after the flood (Noah) it because a sin because Noah's son's were married. therefore they were no longer blood related. homosexuality was never apart of God's plan for mankind. it was never natural and it will never be natural to God. God' word will always be consistent because He never goes back on His word (therefore no contradictions; those that contradict His word are those who don't know and understand God). God told us to be fruitful and multiply. therefor he wanted us to populate the world. only us humans think that the world is over populated. God doesn't.

No where in the Bible does it say that Adam & Eve where the first created human beings. They were the first to be created into the image of God. They were protected in the Garden but were cast out because of sin. They left their sancturary only to enter the barbarism of humanity that has existed before even their creation. Cain's wife was undoubtedly one of those "other" people (not of God).
