I can only base my opinion from the people on here, and I don't for one minute believe that they are representative of the average christian, American or otherwise.

There is no such thing as an 'average American Christian', surely?
Christianity is widespread in the USA - I believe around 30% of people there belong to one denomination or other. That's around 90 million people. And there are scores if not hundreds of denominations and differences of belief even within them so I wouldn't want to generalise.
Every one of those people is an individual so presumably their experience, witness and interpretation of their faith is unique to them, even though they hold it in common with so many others.
Btw. I live in the UK.

Canada here: I don't like to judge any body's religion, but it comes across as extreme compared to here.
They appear to us like they are just non caring about war, the earth, the future...just this rapture/or second coming...and are jubilant in their beliefs that the world will end soon. That just seems so strange. Fanatical, is the only word that comes to mind..
I say this with no disrespect to Christians.
I was reading where a political person was given the position of Notary Public with the government in the USA and then when he refused to say he believed in God, his position was taken away.

Hard core evangelists. They are not keen on discussion All they want to do it evangelise and try to convert those poor non -christian souls that must be saved from eternal damnation.
I love having a good discussion about religion with anybody but American christians.

The AVERAGE America Christian is a perfectly nice person. I might not agree with thier doctrine but over all the completly respect that, and are even respectfully curious about MY religion.
Now the AVERAGE Bible Belter where I live? Yeah they are fundamentalist crazies who scream who is and who is not a "real" Christian (I thought that was up to God), who is and who is not going to hell (Once again, thought that was up to God) and forcing thier beliefs, their prayers and thier way of life down our throats in an attempt to save us from something we don't even believe in. THOSE I can't stand. They make America look like a joke to the rest of the world. They are doing us NO favors in our foreigh relations or in our national relations. Not everyone WANTS to believe it and because of the first amendmet we don't HAVE to. They seem to forget that.

A very large number of people who go to thousands of different churches with different slants and who are unwise enough not to speak with the same voice.
When I asked one why Christians seemed fair game for all sorts of verbal attacks and skits and so on and were there not laws against that sort of thing, I was told that they were not protected by such laws because they are not considered a minority group.
But it seems you are a large collection of minority groups. You are greatly divided and so shall you be conquered. Please do wise up.

I don't think Americans would like to hear, accept the facts and believe even if I am quite right. So I better keep my opinion with myself.
