For all of you animal-know-it-all's out there, or if there happens to be a vet/vet tech on line... i really need this answered...
about two days ago i woke up ... walked down my stairs, and came down in my living room only to find blood on my floor and a cat trembling on its side with blood or what definitely looked like blood, coming from its mouth. The cat died. Later on i found that my other cat, also looked very injured. it's back was wet and a lot of its fur was gone, (it had been losing fur previously), and it isn't walking normal. it's (he's) using it's (his) legs yet his but is hanging low and nearly dragging on the ground... ... does anyone out there know if my cat is dying or if i can do anything to help him... anyone know what's wrong with him?

Check for poisons in the house (I'm assuming they're strictly indoor cats?). If you live in an apartment, find out if anyone put out rat poison or sprayed for bugs without telling you. If you own your home, has anyone put poison down outside for pest control? Has the city sprayed for anything? Pesticides are used for gypsy moth control, mosquitoes and several other things. Has ANYONE in the block had a lawn treatment done? If the cats walked on that, the chemical kills. Our humane society treats or puts down over 600 squirrels a summer just from this one thing alone. It's absorbed into the feet or ingested when they clean their feet (or both).
Check to see that none of the containers of cleaning supplies under your sink have been chewed on by the cats.
Does ANYONE have a key to your place that could have attacked the cats while you were asleep?
You'll need a vet autopsy to find out what the root cause was that did this to your cats. This sounds extremely serious and you need to be aware of any danger to yourself as well.

It does sound as though your cat became mated as they do scream blue homicide while that occurs. so some distance as i understand there isn't any being pregnant try for cats yet while she became mated the eggs would be slightly touched by way of the felines sperm yet. An ultrasound test would not tutor any consequences till after a pair of month. in case you have your cat spayed now you will in no way be killing kittens, they don't actual exist yet and there is an risk that having a muddle ought to kill your cat if she has issues on the start yet no you may nonetheless say something is a hundred% so which you need to choose whether to attend and notice if she is pregnant and enable her have the kittens or to have her spayed now. attempt to maintain her in as she ought to mate returned with a similar, or a distinctive feline and if she isn't already pregnant she must be then.Litters of kittens could have distinctive fathers !

So sorry for your tragic loss of your little friend. I hope your other cat will get the much needed help. I find this question interesting, and I also would like to know what could cause this. You didn't tell us what the Vet. said that could be happening. It sounds like an emergency situation. Please post the out come.

Sounds like your cat that died was poisoned..get your other cat to the vet NOW! Why are you wasting time on the computer instead of getting your cat the care it needs??? Also, why does it matter that your cat is black??

You'd better get your cat to the vet. Sounds like he got ran over by a car or was mauled up by another animal.

Poison?
Instead of playing around on a message board that yields some of the dumbest answers, get your cat to a vet.

He could have gotten into rat poison...or antifreeze if they are able to be let outside....both are fatal if ingested and not gotten to the vet asap...even then there is no guarentee of survival.
There are just too many reasons why and it does not sound good at all....he sounds very ill and definately requires medical attention.
