Similar bills that require the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to demand that the United States Attorney General take federal custody of any undocumented criminal alien incarcerated in California's correctional system, and to reimburse the state for costs.

Which way will you vote? and why?

I support this bill because of the cost California citizens are burdened with. There are federal laws on the books which are being ignored by both the government and the illegal aliens so I believe the Federal government should be held accountable for effectively being the nation's #1 deadbeat Dad.

I don't believe the state should be penalized. What about you?

I will most certainly be voting in favor of this bill. The Federal Government needs to be sent the message loud and clear: "we want our immigration laws enforced! Not 'reformed'. Enforced."

I think we need to pass identical referendums to Arizona's prop 200 and voter id req. laws, which have already been upheld in the same court circuit California is in. I'll look into this one. I think it is pretty meaningless since our Senators have been asking for this constantly. However, I agree that so long as immigration 'is a federal matter' and the states bear the burden, not the feds, the federal government is too able to ignore the problems.

Also, where ICE doesn't even deport all criminals illegally here at the end of their sentence, or come get all of those identified as illegally here and in custody, I would worry that the feds would simply set these people free and they wouldn't have to serve their time. Our revolving door through the porous border would put them back on our streets in a matter of weeks.

No, it is not. An unlicensed pharmacist would be a pharmacist who is performing duties without a license. An undocumented worker, on the other hand, is no different than an illegal alien. Since we all understand the various terms used for "illegal aliens," I think it's safe to move on from the pointless waste of energy in debating word choice. If you want to be credible, find something with substance.

I do not think it will go through. The illegals are busted for what ever state crime they commit. They must serve a good portion the original sentence and then start their sentence for being an illegal alien. The state statutes must be met before going federal.

The bill sounds good in theory, but where are the feds going to get the money, their broke too. Have you looked at the national debt recently? This whole country is sinking under the weight of its own stupidity.
