your windpipe is also called the trachea, it is a "tube" that runs from the mouth to the lungs. it is surrounded by rings of cartilage that stop it from collapsing during inspiration. the trachea's main job is the transport of air from the atmosphere to the lungs so that gaseous exchange can occur

You are not dumb
your wind pipe is in your throat
near your larynx ( voice box )
you see when you choke on something
the expression going down the wrong pipe
this means the flap didn't close when eating

If you feel your throat there is a vacuum hose sensation when you swallow it goes down windpipe.

your wind pipe is your trachea. It is in your neck and goes to your lungs. It brings the air to your lungs.
