Happened last year at same time (Oct/Nov). Vets stumped - think an allergy. She's had steroid cream, anti-inflammatory and anti-biotic jabs, eye drops. She's very poorly, aversion to light.
Nothing's changed in her routine that I can attribute it to.
Can anyone help?

Poor baby!

Have you tried food allergies? Try giving her a food that's as free of dyes and preservatives as possible. My parents' beagle has similar symptoms when he tries to eat Gravy Train- but he's fine with another food.

Is your cat wearing a flea collar - if so take it off and do check for fleas - one of my cats can scratch herself bald with her flea allergy. She gets extremely dehydrated and ratty and suffers really badly. Just as humans don't need a change in routine to develop an allergy, neither do cats. Yes - and go to another vet.

probably is an allergy, my cat did the same thing to her neck, it looked like raw meat.
We took her to the vet and he said she had fleas, i had treated her for this. She had developed an allergy to the little blighters. After lots of baths, ointments and antibiotics she was ok.

terrific thank you to objective and circumvent that could be to trim her nails. you ought to purchase an electric powered "sander" variety (which will insure that no harm is performed to the nerve interior the claw) at any petsmart, petco, or any puppy shop. or you're able to have somebody restrain the cat together as you're taking a pair of human nail clippers and snip off an particularly very small quantity of the nail. you in basic terms p.c. to clip off sufficient so as that way while she does start to scratch herself heer nails are no longer sharp sufficient to do undesirable harm. yet ensure you be very cautious to no longer clip to on the brink of the pink nerve that runs interior the nail. If that nerve is decrease even the least quantity, it could bleed for an particularly long term and it had great situation clotting by making use of itself. The maximum secure thank you to handle a cats sharp nails is to apply the electrical powered "shaver/sander". stable success! And remember be very secure in case you p.c. the nail clippers direction.

sounds like your cat has cat flu....

as far as i know there is no cure...

anti-biotics can help.....but can be very expensive.
your vet should have told you this...

i know this may sound cruel....the best thing to do would be to put the cat to sleep. ( thats if your cat dose have cat flu )
cat flu is highly contagious to other cats.

take your cat to a different vet for a second opinion
