Where I live I'm not allowed to have a satellite dish in the front yard and they are being really horrible about my putting it on the roof. Does anyone know if the dish with work through windows so I can just keep it in my apartment?

Resources/references would be great!

As long as the window faces in the direction of the satellite, it will work through glass. Have you thought of camouflaging your dish? I just googled ["satellite dish" camouflage] typed exactly like that but without the square brackets. There are dozens of resources out there (disguise it as a bush or a sunflower or as a part of a brick wall).

If you live in an apartment why don't you just get cable? I looked into directv at my apartment but in most cases you have to buy renters insurance in case something happends to the dish. Plus a deposit to have the dish on the property. If you don't have a patio to put it on then a dish is out. Since your a renter if the owner says no then there is not much else you can do anyways. Their are different cable companies out there to choose from with no long term contracts that also have bundle packages so that you can add internet and cable for a pretty good price. Also keep in mind that if you are looking into dish network you have to have a phone line connected into the receiver box at all times. Directv only needs a phone line for ppv.

it would if the window was rather large, but i don't think you would want it in your house. It takes up a lot of space and doesn't have a wide field of signal.-resulting in possible signal loss when the satellite, has moved out of the dish's field of view.

get another company if they don't agree to put in on the roof or charge you extra.

If it was "installation included" and they don't agree to install it on the roof. SUE THEM.
