I was cleaning my parents attic and found a box of toys that they forgot to give me in the late 70's or 80's. There was a Richard Petty race set made by ERTL, I was wondering if this might be worth something since Nascar is so popular now. The entire set is still sealed in the package. Any Idea if its worth anything.

It should be worth something, probably under $100, but still worth something. I had some Ertl cars back then. I just wish I still had them in the packages.

If you want to find out (if no one else here knows), you can go to a farm toy show near you. I've seen a lot of racing items at farm toys shows around here (I collect toy tractors and trucks, mostly 1:64 scale).

BTW....the wheels sucked on the cars, but other than that, I thoght they were awesome. It was great having cars from some of the best drivers in NASCAR. Not even Hot Wheels, nor Matchbox was making NASCAR cars back then. Racing Champions and all of the others now weren't even a dream back then.

Sure it,s worth something...It all depends on what it is...Check out ebay and it will give you an idea...Save it don,t sell it...I,m afraid that when people pass away is when these things become more valuable..
