The rear wheel spins a little when emergency brake is applied and I need to tighten it in order to have vehicle inspected. Where is the adjustment located and how do I adjust it? Thanks

you cannot adjust the cables on a minivan manually. the tension is automaitcally adjusted by the self adjuster on the pedal release. people that guess at answers do not have a place telling someone they are wrong when someone makes their living on knowing these vehicles inside and out. looking from the backside of the hub, you will see an oval shaped rubber plug. remove the plug and look in with a flashlight. you will see the adjuster wheel. they adjust the same way as drum brakes, only they can be harder to do because they are in there pretty far and hard to see and get to. you will probably have to use a small screwdriver instead of a brake spoon to adjsut them.

this is a direct copy/paste from the service manual---

The park brake cables on this vehicle have an automatic self adjuster built into the park brake pedal mechanism. When the foot operated park brake pedal is in its released (upward most) position, a clock spring automatically adjusts the park brake cables. The park brake cables are adjusted (tensioned) just enough to remove all the slack from the cables. The automatic adjuster system will not over adjust the cables causing rear brake drag.

Due to the automatic adjust feature of the park brake pedal, adjustment of the parking brake cables on these vehicles relies on proper drum brake (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL/BRAKE PADS/SHOES - ADJUSTMENTS) or park brake shoe (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/PARKING BRAKE/SHOES - ADJUSTMENTS) adjustment.

When the park brake pedal is applied the self adjuster is by-passed and the pedal operates normally to engage the park brakes.

When a service procedure needs to be performed on the park brake pedal or the park brake cables, the automatic self adjuster can be manually locked out by the service technician.

Dodge man is correct, emergency brakes are adjusted using the cable adjuster under the floorpan. I don't know about disc brakes but the rear brake shoes are the actual emergency brake, the shoes are pulled against the inside of the drum via the cable. I'm not sure what "sprinkle" is adjusting.

If memory serves me, if you look under the van you will find a cable going to the rear of the van and to the brakes. Some where along the cable will be an adjustment to tighten up and take slack out of the cable. Just take enough out till the park brake pedal holds with 3 or 4 clicks when the peddle is applied.

does it have 4 wheel disc brakes or drum brakes on it,? if its drum the adjustment is where the cable splits on the bottom of the vehicle there is a section of it that adjust both sides of the rear e-brake,the rear brakes and the e-brake are the same thing, good luck.

depends on if it has disc brakes, there are shoes i the raised part of the rotor. it has a little drum in there...you then just adjust up the adjuster screw...if it drums then just adjust up the shoes...its easy if you know what your doing..or take it to a brake shop and have it done
