I'm not 21 and have never been much of a drinker. A bunch of my friends are taking me out tonight and I don't know what kind of beer to have. I was told Red Stripe and Corona are two beers that have an easy taste to them and are easy to drink.
Are those two beers that I should try or should I lean towards another one? If so, what do you recommend?
Thanks!

Corona and Red Stripe are bottom of the barrel beers. I'd recommend Bud and Miller products before I would recommend either of them. As far as a really common beer that you should try here are a few.
1. Hoegaargen - Yellow in color, with a nice light wheat flavor. Make sure you get an orange wedge to accent the orange peel and coriander flavors in it.
2. Sam Adam's Boston Lager - Stronger in taste than the Hoe with a nice bite to it.
3. Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat - More subdued bite than a standard SA with a nice cherry finish.
4. Young's Double Chocolate Stout - If you are willing to go heavy (not high alcohol) with you beer try this one. Smooth almost milky with a great chocolate note to the taste.
5. Stella Artois - Clean and clear with a slight bitter edge to the flavor.. a good starter on the path of real beers.
I've been collecting and consuming premium beers for many years now and though I doubt you will take my advice.. stay away from crappy major brands. They are an insult to true beer. Good luck and happy birthday.
To Lili:
Not to be insulting but Woodchuck is not beer. It is a hard cider. If you enjoy beer and ciders try an Ephemere from Unibroue or a Lindeman's Pamme. Both are wonderful apple beers the second tasting like a Jolly Rancher.
Sorry, "Pomme" not "Pamme" my bad.

Corona and Red Stripe are highly over rated. Oh look there is a lime in my cat urine flavored beer, on I'm on the beach drinking it too. A good goto beer for me has always been Coor's Light, very tasty and drinkable, Killian's Irish Red is good and has a almost creamy taste to it, Amber Bock has an almost dark chocolate flavor to it, all of those beers are pretty easy to find as any bar. Also Wood Chuck Draft Cider, if they have it, not actually a beer but if they have it at your bar, you must order one, the Amber flavor most def the best if you have the option, it is heaven in a bottle.
Regardless it is for your 21st B-Day party right, you tell your friends to buy you all of your drinks and try a new one each time, have fun!

Gaak! Don't try Corona. That has got to beer that has the worst handling before it gets to the consumer. The taste is "skunky", a problem that can be caused by exposure to either light or heat or both. That's why people squeeze a wedge of lemon or lime into it. Kills the taste.
If you want a pale lager, you might want to try out Miller Lite. It's won a gold medal and isn't too pretentious. For a dark lager, you might like a bock. If you want to start with an ale, I used to like Carling's Red Cap. Not highly rated but it fit my taste at the time. If you want to be legal, try a non-alcoholic beer, like O'Doul's.

If you want to try a beer, there's always the same ol' same ol' Coors, Budweiser and Miller brand beers. But it gets old, drinking the same thing every time. May I suggest......
-Fosters Lager on tap
-New Belgium Brewery Fat Tire Amber Ale on tap
-St. Ides Malt Liquor
-***** Modello

Well Happy Birthday. Red Stripe is good beer, that we even keep in the fridge at time. I am not big at all on Corona.
Since you are just 21, are you drinking to enjoy the beer, or to get drunk. Because then you have to ask yourself do you quality over quantity.
Cheap beers: Ice House, Paps Blue Ribbon, Bud, Bud Light,
Beers I like: Guinness, Yuengling, Bass, Amber Bock, Harp Wood Chuck.
Now you might like wood chuck it is a sweeter beer.
