I recommend that you look on here http://www.craigslist.org/about/cities.html Just click any city, and then choose your state on the right side of the screen, choose your city or the city that is closest to yours, and look in the pets section.
Some families give away their Pitt puppies or "re-home" them for a small fee.
Some of them move to a new place where Pitts are not allowed, Some have too much work to do, and no time for the puppy, or their kids don't look after the puppy like they said they would when the puppy was bought. These people usually decide to put the puppy on Craig's List instead of surrendering the puppy to a shelter, where Pitts are often put to sleep because of their breed, or nobody adopts them in time.

Good Luck

If you are in the UK you should be aware that they are a banned breed and if someone reported it the dog could be taken away and Euthanised (which basically means KILLED) or at the very least it would have to spend most of it's life in a muzzle - Is it worth it?

i am sure you are aware that pit bulls are illegal in this country, i know that there are some hidden away but if found out they are confiscated and put to sleep, these dogs are smuggled in from ireland where they are used to fight, please dont contemplate getting one, you will just be helping the illegal importers to carry on this trade, why not get a staffy, pit bulls were bred off these, they are smaller and friendlier and of course you can take them out as they are legal!!!.....

um with difficulty in this country. They're banned in the UK under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

If you live in the UK forget it you can't buy that breed here since the dangerous dogs act, you can't breed them either for sale and if you do have one they have to be muzzled in public.

Pit bulls are a mixed breed and should never be bred due to genetic health reasons however rescues and animal shelters are over their heads in Pit Bulls. Make sure you study both breeds, the American Bulldog and Stafshire terrier.
