I really want an ipod nano video. But most of my friends that have diiferent model ipods, have told me theres have broke or have virus's etc. I know that it the first year there is a warrenty, and apple can send me a new one if something goes wrong, but what about the battery life? When it runs out... can it be replaced? If so... will it still be the same? I dont know what to belive. Some people say, when the battery goes, u have to buy a new ipod, and some say u CAN replace the battery, and apple can do it for you for $70. Is that true? That would be terrific if so! Thanks

I personally have a regular nano, but I have a few friends with the video iPods, and the only problem they've had is that the battery dies faster when you're watching a movie than when you're listening to music.

That doesn't seem to affect the overall battery life, though. If you consistently use your iPod until the battery is just about dead and then charge it, the battery will last several hours each time you use it. If you overcharge it, or just charge it too often, the battery life each time you use it will probably decrease.

Of course, you will always get those horror stories from people who charged theirs too often and the battery would only last half an hour to an hour at a time, then having to buy a new battery (which is pretty expensive). In some cases like that, people think it's more cost-efficient to just go ahead and get a new iPod or other mp3 player.

In short, the battery will probably only go if you're not paying attention to how much you charge it.

I have had my iPod 30g Video second generation for about a year now, and the worst problem I have had is that it's scratched up. As you likely know, the iPod is rechargeable, so you don't have to get new batteries every time the thing dies. Of course, Apple WILL replace your battery when you need them to, of course they WILL charge you. But I haven't had to replace my battery yet, and I use my iPod a lot, to play videos, games, the whole thing, you know. As long as you take care of it, you probably won't have to replace your iPod for quite a while.

It is true that recharchable batteries do die at some point (they can't hold charge any more)

According to Apple's web site, it costs now $59 to replace the battery for a nano

Apple's web site has more info on batteries.

It is true that on the Shuffles, you can't replace the battery.

my own oppion is stop fooling around with machines that for the period of easy terms play music or in easy terms play video games. my suggestion is say so long to the ipod and hi to a psp. it may value alittle greater yet you're able to do much greater issues.
