My fiance and I moved into this apartment in August. Now I see why the previous tenants moved. Our neighbor has woke us up twice this week, and many times since we've moved in, with loud sex. You'd swear she was either a prostitute or a porn star, she screams so loud. Thursday she woke us up at 9:00 AM and Today it was 6:30 AM! Literally woke me up. We don't know any of our neighbors - I've only seen this girl twice, in the hallway or elevator. I don't even know her name. What can I do to get her to shut up? I mean, if she's loud in bed, I know I can't change that. And if this is her job, lol, then I'm thinking she's not going to shut up for us. But seriously, 6:30 in the morning! I'm losing sleep here. And I'm fed up! I don't want to be rude or start a war with her because then it will only get worse. How can I politely ask this girl - who I never even see - to quiet it down, without starting a war?

Because I've only seen her twice ever, just catching her in the hall at random is unlikely. I would have to knock on her door if I really wanted to talk to her about it. Do you think this is necessary? Would a note under the door be petty?

I would try approaching her and letting her know "gently" that the apt. has thin walls and her "entertaining" is a bit on the loud side... If she has any morals/values or sense about her she'll be embarassed and not be so noisy... If the problem continues, beat on the wall when you hear her "express" herself... If that STILL doesn't work- call the police and tell them that you think someone is being murdered in the apt. next door... When they show up and bust the door down, that will teach her ! Good luck

Cats are wonderful creatures, aren't they? I have three and have discovered that they are most awake during that time of the night. I get woken up around 4-5 am EVERY morning by at least one of them. This morning it was 4:12 by my oldest cat clawing at her kitty condo (which is in my bedroom). All she wanted it turns out was some food, which is usually what they all want at that hour. I try not to reinforce this behavior by giving them what they want, which is wet food, but I did give them dry. Usually I leave the bedroom door open so they can come in and out during the night but once they wake me up I close the door. They will usually be quiet and leave me alone until I get up at my normal time at 6:15, but they are all waiting for me outside the door. Weekends are a bit trickier but I'm learning a system. Anyway, my suggestion to you would be to not let her sleep as much during the day, if possible, and try to keep her awake in the evenings when you are there. Give her lots of toys and scratching posts. Don't close your bedroom door on her unless she's keeping you up. If you absolutely have to you may have to put her in a kennel during those hours you need the sleep. Your cat may also just be lonely. Is there any way you can get another cat? When I just had one she would wake me at all hours of the night. But now that I have three, they pretty much entertain each other and its a lot better. Good luck.

Call the person that is in charge of your building and complain about the noise...you don't need to say that it's sexual noises, just say that she's making a lot of noise and you might consider moving if it continues the way that it is...

If that doesn't help the situation, write a note and leave it for her, don't sign your name and just say that your neighbors would greatly appreciate it if you kept your noise down during the early morning and late night hours (it could be from the apartment below hers or to her other side or the one across the hall...so they wouldn't know for sure that it was from you)

Seriouly 6.30 am is early but no 9.00 am. Anyway the best solution is still to talk to her. don't worry that you may offend her and things might get worse, just go and talk to her or her partner. She may or may not be an understanding person, so its worth to take the "risk" by talking to her. There is a possibility that she doesn't realise that the "loudness" had disturb your sleep ( you know when she is doing "that", how could see think of others , what more those living next door ). Maybe shel'll stop or tone down after this.

Another alternative is to get a pair of ear plugs and wear them when you go to sleep.

It's okay to slip a note under her door that tells her that her bedroom noises are disturbing your sleep and ask if she can tone it down. Be sure to say Thank You and sign you name. If it continues, talk to the apartment manager.

You definitely need to talk to her, you're paying rent! It's your home, and you should be able to rest and relax! Be nice about it, and also mention that if talking to her doesn't solve anything, you'll have to go to the next step.

Tell her you are taking polls on how loud she can scream during sex.

Embarrassing her should work. She might become hostile if you ask for quiet.

hmmm tough question... catch her outside, mention it. "Oh I heard you had fun this morning" She will say "huh?"
say.... Yeah, I HEARD you had fun this morning, is he good looking?" hopefully she will get the hint and apologize, and you say.. "well Iam glad your having fun, i swear you woke the dead."
and hopefully this will embarass her enough.

Record what goes on, then play it back loud when she's finished so she can hear how fake she sounds.
