I've heard that the Korean's grudge against Japan is still somewhat present. Now I'm curious if famous Korean artists who've made a name in Japan, like BoA Kwon and Go Younha, received negative reactions from their homeland because of their choice to make a career in Japan.
Additionally, I've read that Younha's back in Korea and I'm also curious if she was recepted well.

I didn't mean to offend Koreans. I'm just asking based on what I've heard because I've never heard of a Japanese who has a grudge against the Koreans. I know about your history, about how the Japanese commited crimes against your people and they did the same to us too. Therefore it would make sense that Koreans would be the ones with the grudge since they are the victims. Now if the Japanese do have a grudge against you as you said, then that's a different issue. Right now I would just like to focus on the Korean side of the issue and like I said I don't mean to offend you nor does this mean I'm taking the side of the Japanese.

There are a good amount of people who resent the fact that BoA is much more active in Japan than in Korea. (Although it is not really her fault; Lee Soo Man, the president of her entertainment company (SM), realizes that he can make more money in Japan than Korea, hence why BoA and virtually every other SM artist have entered the Japanese market) Her last full Korean album, "Girls on Top," was released in 2005 I believe. During that interval, she has been active in Japan, appearing on Japanese TV, releasing singles and albums (and topping the Oricon charts might I add.)) Koreans have hardly seen her during that time. I wouldn't say that the "grudge" between Korea and Japan is what is necessarily causing this. Some people are just mad because she never does anything in Korea. Fans of hers are mad because they want to hear her music. Well, they should be appeased for the most part since she has just released a single for the cell phone brand AnyCall with Tablo, Xiah Junsu, and Bora AND her album is coming out (supposedly) next year) (I'm not a fan but I don't hate her either)
As for Younha, there has been virtually no negative attention since she went to Japan after failed attempts to enter BoA's entertainment company (Ironic, right?) She went to Japan because she was essentially rejected in Korea so people don't really see that as the same thing. And the only thing that matters really is the fact that she came back, right? Her first album, "A Perfect Day for Declaration of Love" was well recieved. It was in the top ten of the charts for quite some time. Her second album that was just recently released (a remade album of her most popular Japanese songs in Korean) and has actually topped the sales charts-Yes, it was #1! And I personally know many many people who like her because she has great vocals and she can play the piano, which they find attractive.

I'm Korean and I don't think I've ever heard Korean people say that they don't approve of artists making a career in Japan. A lot of Koreans listen to Japanese artists, too. The "grudge" you speak of is only true for the elderly Koreans, I think.

I am not sure.
Today BoA don't appear on TV so much compared before.
However, she seems to having her concerts more outside Korea (mostly in Japan.)
