Rugby Player is right - with anything like bread rolls, biscuits or cake, the pretty thing to do is either cut or break the item into bite-size pieces. Then you pick up one piece at a time and completely finish chewing before selecting another piece from the plate. This is because getting food all over your face when you eat is seriously un-pretty.
It is also a better way of eating because you digest each mouthful properly and feel fuller with a smaller amount of food.
I share an office with a woman who just rams the whole cake straight into her mouth, speaking as she chews. I patiently slice mine up into ladylike pieces and eat thoughtfully. I think all well-mannered people eat in this way.

It may be considered bad manners to hold anything food related up into the air. Put everything down when chewing.
give that body a minute to do some of the work it is designed to do.
What is it going to hurt if grandpa even made this up. It sure looks better when we lay it on the plate until we are ready for another bite.
Have a great day and don't gulp your drinks.. sip. quietly.

I think the proper thing to do is to break off a small part of the biscuit, butter it, and then eat that bite. Etiquette says you should do this with bread instead of biting off the roll or whatever.

You should never bite a biscuit. Always brake it in manageable bits

If one is to use proper etiquette, a biscuit is to be eaten with a knife and fork as to have no food ever touch the fingers. The are certain practicices for eating finger foods but a biscuit is never considered to be finger food.

Are you serious.......stop messing about and dunk it in your brew. If you do it with flair i.e. dont let it drop in your cup then everyone will follow you. !!!

most certainly. i disagree with breaking it in to manageable pieces rather than biting it as that could be taken as you are playing with your food.
