i think the marshmallows help them stick together. otherwise i think you'd just have rice krispies and butter

I've never made them using marshmallows. I just melt the chocolate in a ban - marie (glass bowl over a pan of boiling water) then take it off the heat and mix in the rice krispies.
Alternatively, you can do it wih corn flakes or add raisins, makes a yummy change.

I've never used marshmallows either.
Either just use chocolate or if you dont want chocolate ones add butter and golden syrup mixture.

i am pretty sure you can make rice crispies with out marshmallows because you could substitute it with something else that is o.k. to eat.

no you can't make rice krispies treats w/o marshmellows...like someone said....that would be rice krispies and butter....ummm...well, i guess you could...but don't think i would go for it....
