I have asked myself this question for years, i have read the bible, and have a somewhat deep understanding of it. Understand how to get to heaven and everything. I don't understand church goers, everyone Ive met, are bible illiterate, meaning if you asked them what do you think about Ezekiel 8 , they go who? And say dumb stuff like" We don't need to read the Old Testament" We don't? ..

Im not trying to bash y'all, It mainly comes from when I went this church my friend told me about, cause they assume you don't attend a church that means your deep in sin. So I went, and the pastor asked me questions and I kindly respond it, and he tried show how i should go to church, and thought i dint no the bible. no sir, I killed him, he has is masters in this stuff!

I love Jesus or Yashoua, he is the center of my life.

Am I wrong? Comment Please!

your right most christians don't know the bible like they should but the idea of church is worship and fellowship with other christians. But you don't have to go to get to heaven. And I find alot of people go just for show . because they think it's the thing to do but they don't hold it in there heart if you know what I mean.

If you have been born again then you should want to go to church and worship with your fellow believers, as you well no Paul said not to forsake the assembling of yourselves together. It sounds like you need to find a different Church. When somebody tells you they don't need to read the old testament ask them what do they think Jesus read from, all they had in those days was the old testament, thats all the apostel Paul had. Do a lot of Praying, and the good Lord will lead you to a God fearing Bible believeing Church.

It is unfortunate that many people frown at attending church just because they see the hypocrites inside, the 10% tithes, the extreme dogma they hold, and the legalistic practices they do. Despite the fact that there are unhealthy churches out there many are still faithful and balance in God's word. You will be surprise to know that these same church critics do not see the good thing that church can do to themselves and their family if they plant themselves in that particular locality. In reality the reason why they wanted to avoid church is they only want to have a good excuse for being greedy with their money, committing adultery and fornication, lying, stealing, homosexuality, lesbianism, cursing, gluttony, drinking alcohol, and many other evil practices. If you find yourself still doing these things and you are attending church then you are just fooling yourself.

Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness." (2Tim 2:19)

I personally attend the worship service to celebrate because I know that Jesus rose on Sunday. This is a time to be edified from the word of God and encourage other Christians to go on in the faith. I also believe that I need to contribute something because I have a gift from the Holy Spirit which I can use to build the body.

Church is not important but the Bible does mention the importance of gathering together. This builds strength in ones Christian walk. It allows us to call on each other when we are down. The word says that the prayer of a righteous man amounts for much. If this is about one person than how much more would a prayer by many people amount to. I understand your issue with churches though. I stopped going for about 6 yrs. I have since found one that I enjoy going to. God Bless.

If you have a deep understanding of the Bible consider these verses from Hebrews.

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;
24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,
25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

So you are mistaken. Regularly gathering together with other Christians is vital for both them and us. If you love Jesus you should love His people also.

A good church can be a great social and psychological support in a person's life. They make friends, contacts, get on sports teams, have groups to talk about issues and problems in, gather together for fun, have people to support them when hard times come and to celebrate with them when things are going great, and have people to gather with to do good works.

Even if "god" is a bust, a church can be a great thing...a bad church can also be a terrible thing, like an abusive family, but a good church is a great resource in a family's life.

You're absolutely right!
I cannot go to church because of my work schedule, but I seek the Lord with all of my heart...

So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths.
For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality.
(Colossians 2:16-17 NLT)

To attend the various churches, synagogues, temples and other so-called places of worship will not achieve anything. For it was clearly stated that the Kingdom of God is within one's own being. The idea of attending the aforementioned is a consrtuct of man,and will not ensure Spiritual progress.

People go to church for many reasons. One is to find people who mirror their own beliefs and assumptions. Some go to church to meet a life partner or date. Maybe in reality it is a glorified support group for therapeutic purposes. Everyone seems to be looking for answers and some go to church to find those answers.

To learn about God and to renew your spirit. If you are not getting anything out of church, find a new one where the spirit of the Lord is and there is liberty.

Think of it like this. You feed your body everyday. Why? Because you have to live.

What are you feeding your spiritman? Anemic milktoast? Or good hearty meat?

If you are not getting your spirit fed, it is time to find a new cook.
