How do you define somebody to be religious?

How do you define "religious"?
What makes somebody religious?
What makes YOU religious?
i feel that defining oneself to be religious is subjective
like i could say i'm religious but somebody else would say otherwise
however to be religious would be to follow one's religions basic principles right?? but to what extent does doing so make you
"religious"?

You are right, this is subjective. For me, it has two differnt parts, neither of which I have:
1. To believe in a God or Gods, or follow a belif described as a religion.

2. For this belief to be a major part of your life and your religoin having a major influence on your perception of the world and the way you go aobut your life.

So the way I see it, a person could be considered "religious" according to 1, in that they believe in a God, but not religions according to 2 if this does not play a major part in your life.

You're right, it is not a clearly dfefined condition. You can easily deinfe soemone as "non-religious" if they are atheist though, like me.

A Buddhist is a religious person for Buddhist ppl, but not for jews coz the ideology of both the religions is different. In the same religion, one is religious who's crossing the boundary of that religion is minimum. Limits ... there r no limits n no %age. Everyone who enters any religion is religious. How much religious ? As much as he restricts himself to be within the boundary of that religion ...

First of all religious is not a biblical term, religion can mean anything..it is a beleif such as my relgion is sports, or television, are fishing..it is an iterest that takes up your entire life. Anything can be a religion ! Christianity is the beleif that you must be born again like Christ himself said. Everybody is religous, but it does not mean it has anything to do with Christianity and the bible. If something takes up your life as an interest it is your religion...

My mother is a Catholic and goes to Mass every day so I consider people like that to be religious.

To be religious is to have a personal and harmonious relationship with God. This means a healthy prayer life that strengthens faith, faith that works through chairty. One need not broadcast himself for all people to acknowledge.

A simple question: "What would it take to change your beliefs?"
If the answer is, or equates to, "nothing", the person is religious.

The thing is, one can be religious without having faith. I don't consider myself religious, but I definitely have sooooo much faith.
