Cooking and shopping is actually alright, you have a passion for food and cooking, just like me.
I too love to cook and get groceries from the stores, I love to chop, fry, boil and do other stuff that involves cooking.
Try to use the old food stuff up before buying new things, that will prevent getting your pantry and freezer from getting full.
And, don't waste too much money spending on new stuff without even finishing the old stuff.

I think it is refreshing for a man to be passionate about something other than the usual guy hobbies, ESPECIALLY when it has to do with shopping!!! Most men hate shopping and I tend to agree with that... I hate shopping so much, I buy almost everything online. I am wondering why that in the state of Florida, with all the elderly people, they dont have delivery of groceries? In Ny they do. No I am not lazy by any means, just detest shopping. So I give you HUGE props... and no there is nothing wrong with you... I bet your mate is loving life!!!

Food shopping can actually be enjoyable, especially if it gives you the chance to try new things or you get a 'bargain', but you need more self discipline to use food in the correct date order and not be wasteful with it. Ban youself from food shopping for say 7 days to use up what you have before restocking.

No shame in being a "foodie." We all have our hobbies, and there are certainly worse - and stranger! - ones than yours. Might I suggest donating your unused food to a homeless shelter or neighborhood pantry before it spoils and you have to throw it out, though? Then your hobby will be doing good for others, too....

Cooking is alright, but shopping - I would certainly say so.

If you're enjoying yourself, why is that bad?
